"In every woman, there is: A Believer, A Survivor, A Fighter, A Warrior in Pink!"

In honor of National Breast Cancer Month, which is Ocotber, you will make a donation to any charity that supports a breast cancer cause.

You may also, rather than making a direct monetary donation - may choose to volunteer time by driving a cancer patient to an appointment or offerring a free service you provide to a cancer patient/survivor, knit a pink hat for someone who has lost their hair or help raise money by particpating in a walk-a-thon, etc.

The ways you can give back and help support breast cancer are endless! Get creative!!!!!!

You will then send a letter to your swap partner denoting the charity, amount/type of your donation and why you chose that specific charity.

You can make the donation in honor of a loved one and also perhaps get your employer to match the donation.

Check out my breast cancer website for cool pictures, articles, facts and unique breast cancer projects: http://www.myspace.com/pinkribbondiva

This is a USA ONLY swap and you will have (1) one partner.

Newbies with completed profiles are welcome to join, as well as, anyone else with a 4.5 or higher rating.

My mother died of breast cancer when she was only 37 years old and I was only 5 years old. I am a survivor myself . . . so this is a cause near & dear to me and one I live for everyday. So thank you for considering this swap.

The Bipartisan Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act Needs Your Support!

The Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act would eliminate the practice of "drive-through" mastectomies, when women are forced to leave the hospital following their physically and emotionally difficult breast cancer surgeries before they and their doctors may feel they are ready to go home.

Sign the petition below today and urge Congress to take the next steps to pass this bill.

Craftybeachgirl did a 200 mile BC Poker run yesterday...It was $40.00 per bike and her husband and her both participated. So they did 80.00 and also got 20.00 in 50/50 tickets. Her husband won $382.00 and he donated 1/2 of that back and the other half will go to the relay for life cancer run next week and an oil change for his bike so he can ride with her again. Craftybeachgirl spoke at the event on behalf of her sister and Auntie and even told the 1000 + riders about our swap and how even in our silly craft world we are still all connected. She says she really enjoyed doing this swap and the best part was to be able to give back the money for research (she said her husband has never been one to give to causes but she is happy & proud that he did) AND SO ARE WE!!!! GREAT JOB and THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.

Healing Refuge: For many women with breast cancer, yoga offers relief from the side effects of treatment while transforming a sense of loss into an expereince of wholeness.

I have a great article on using Yoga if you have BC - let me know if you'd like a copy and I'll mail it out to you.

A study conducted by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, found women being treated for early-stage breast cancer who participated in a yoga program experienced a smaller decline in social well-being than women who did not do yoga. In addition, among the women who were not currently receiving chemotherapy, yoga improved overall quality of life and mood. The findings were reported in the Journal of Clinical Oncology.

Getting routine check-ups and following through on recommended tests such as mammography and MRIs are very important in the prevention of breast cancer. When taking a holistic view of your health it is absolutely beneficial to take advantage of the newest scientific technologies available to you in securing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

First and foremost, it is beneficial to take care of physically manifested imbalances. Secondly, becoming aware of subtle energy changes occurring in the aura and the human energy field surrounding our physical bodies can alert us to problems before they surface as a physical dis-ease or imbalance.

Energy medicine practitioners teach that our physical imbalances begin on an energetic level. Energy imbalances discovered in the aura and human energy field can signify imbalances that are likely to solidify in the physical body (flesh, muscle, organs, bones, or blood). Treating subtle imbalances in the early stages of imbalance before any physical manifestation occurs is taking a pro-active approach.

However, most of us have not been taught how to notice signs of energetic imbalance. We continue to trudge along each day doing the best we can. We simply are not accustomed to paying attention to subtle energy symptoms. And often it isn't until we manifest dis-eases ourselves or become involved in the care of dis-eased loved ones that we purposely take on the challenge of treating dis-eases. Breast Cancer Prevention Early prevention steps to deter diseases such as breast cancer from manifesting can definitely be taken by starting to notice how we feel and begin making positive changes in our daily lives. Sensitive types of individuals who notice imbalances may seek medical care only to discover that medical testing is not sophisticated enough to recognize energy imbalances. If this happens, don't be so willing to shrug off your concerns prematurely. Your body is talking to you. Take Heart! Breast cancer is one of the physical dysfunctions associated with the heart chakra. Mainstream physical tests may indicate there is not a problem when your body is telling you something different. If this is the case you might consider seeking an energy medicine practitioner trained in recognizing problems in your human energy field to begin the process of healing any emotional issues that may be blocking your heart chakra flow. Energy healing sessions focused on balancing the chakras can also complement your medical treatments once a disease such as breast cancer has manifested into the physical. Listen to Your Body When it Talks Taking care of your emotional and spiritual needs may help prevent physical illness or at least cope with illness when it comes. Please do not stop listening to your body simply because one test or one doctor says nothing is wrong. Identify any stresses in your life that may be causing you discomfort and take whatever steps you can to rid yourself of these stressors. You may need to work fewer hours or stop hanging out with people who push your buttons. A weekly massage or switching to a healthier diet may be the response your body wants. The important thing is to have open communications with your physical and emotional bodies. Your spiritual being may also need some uplifting. You honor yourself when you pay attention to all your parts: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Healers Heart Quotes On Breast Cancer Breast Cancer is one of the physical dysfunctions associated with the heart chakra. Barbara Brennan states in her book Hands of Light: A Guide to Understanding Human Energy Fields that a torn chakra indicates cancer.

"A torn chakra... has appeared in every cancer patient I have ever seen... A chakra can be torn, and the cancer will not appear in the body for two or more years later...."

Issues concerning love and nurturing affect the health of a woman's breasts. In an energy analysis of a patient with breast cancer in women, medical intuitive, Caroline Myss wrote:

"For some women, cancer develops in response to an inability to nurture, which results in guilt feelings and self-hate. Others experience fear and identity crises as a result of not accepting the natural closure of the cycle of motherhood when children leave the home."

Norman Shealy M.D., expert in pain management, states in Chapter 6 of The Creation of Health: The Popular Way to Die: Heart Disease, Stroke and Cancer:

"Low levels of fiber and high levels of sugar and fat are associated with increased cancer of the colon and breast, diabetes, gall stones, appendicitis, high blood pressure, varicose veins, hemorrhoids, diverticulosis and adrenaline production."

Christian Northrup, M.D., a visionary of mind-body wellness and cofounder of a the Women to Women Health Care Center writes:

"Energy dysfunction often arise when a woman is confused about how to use both her loving (fourth chakra) and her creative (second chakra) energies optimally. The major conflict within women is that most of us still believe that in order to be loved, to receive love, and to guarantee that someone will need us, we must care for loved ones' external physical needs.

Cancer survivor, author, and one of the founders of the self-help movement, Louise L. Hay is well known for her healing affirmations. Hay on the breasts:

"The breasts represent the mothering principle. When there are problems with the breasts, it usually means we are 'over mothering' either a person, a place, or a thing, or an experience.... If cancer is involved, then there is also deep resentment."
