Description:

April is National Poetry month, so I thought it would be a good time to try out a swap like this. :) Similar to the build a poetry journal swap series, you will collect poems - written by you, famous poems, poems from books, poems from internet sites - in a notebook and send it to your partner.

This swap will be International, and you will have 1 partner.

All poems should be translated into English. But, if you have it in another language, you can include both translations (but it will only count as 1 poem.)

The notebook or journal is fully up to you. It does need to be bound in some way into a book, no loose pages. But you can make your own, use a pre made journal or a mix of both. The journal DOES need a front and back cover. For size, let's say 3x5 inches and above. You will need to include a minimum of 15 poems, but some may take several pages to complete, so there is no minimum page number.

Decoration is fully up to you as well. If you want to use a pre-made notebook with poems added to it with no decoration, that is fine. If you want to add more, you are welcome to do that as well. Poems can be hand written or typed - or both.

What is required is the swap name and your swap-bot ID included on the first page, and you are required to include a minimum of 15 individual poems, complete with title and author. You can, of course, include more than 15 if you would like, but 15 is the minimum.

The length of the poem is up to you. I find it really difficult to put a length requirement on anything, but especially with poems. And this is a group, and hopefully everyone will be 'fair' with what they add. :)

But, a title and author IS required. If it's 'untitled' with no author, then note "Untitled by Anonymous".

A haiku is a poem. An "I Am" poem is a poem. "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe is a poem. And "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstien is a poem. "The Snake" by Emily Dickinson is a poem. And much, much more. I make this point because in previous swaps I had my partner 'challenge' me on my choice of poems.

Please take your time, find poems you would like to share with your partner, and "send something you would like to receive".

Partners will be assigned early on, so you will know where you are sending TO. This is an International swap, and you may be required to send Internationally. Some notebooks and journals can be more costly to send than others. But this swap is sender's choice. You may tailor it to your partner, but you are NOT required to do so.

Keep the poems 'PG' UNLESS you pre-approve it directly with your partner.

If you have any questions about the swap or comments, please send me a PM as I still miss comments below. I'm terrible at it.

If you are 'watching' this swap before you sign up, please leave a comment below so I can see who is interested. I would appreciate that.

And, if you have a website or book you like for finding poems, please feel free to post below for other swappers to try out or see. :)
