Promote your hobby! Now! Is the time to begin planning your postcard for National Postcard Week May 1-7, 2022 will be the Thirty-eighth year celebration of our own special holiday. Promote your holiday! Let people know you collect postcards.

National Postcard Week was the brain child of: John H. McClintock; DeeDee Parker; Roy Cox and Richard Novick and others. It began in 1984 as a way to promote our hobby. In the early years most of the postcards were made by the many clubs around the country and few individuals.

Today, more are made by individuals than clubs. Although many clubs still make postcards. What you need to know to get started: Pick a design! Any design! Do you like animals, vegetables or people? Maybe your favorite is something else!!!!! Whatever your favorite is take a photo, draw a picture, use stickers, lettering or rubber stamps to design your NPCW postcard. Many people use postcard programs on their computer to design a postcard. Others make them by hand. If you would like someone else to design your postcard, Rick Geary is the best. His address is: PO Box 869, Carrizozo NM 88301 or you can email him at rickdeborahgeary@tularosa.net check out his website: www,rickgeary.com

Here are some guidelines courtesy of The Tucson Post Card Exchange Club National Post Card Week and the date May 2-8, 2021 must be on the postcard, preferably on the front. 2020 is the 38th NPCW. Your name or the club and mailing address should be on the postcard, preferably on the front. but can be on the back. Minimum size 3-1/2 x 5-1/2 inches β€œThis is postal regulations. Maximum 4x6 inches anything over is first class letter postage. Minimum thickness is 90# card stock unless having printed by a printing company. 110 lb card stock can be used in most home printers. All postcards printed should be of the same design. You can design more than one. If you use commercial postcards you must add National Postcard Week and the Date May 2-8, 2021 somewhere on the postcard. A minimum of 100 copies is usually recommended to give other traders a chance to receive a copy. For this swap you need only 5 to send. To give card an extra worth, numbering them is an excellent idea. /100 on the back is okay. Be sure to autograph your postcard. A first name is okay, especially if it is odd like mine.:) Postcards should be mailed during NPCW week, especially those that are stamped. But if the recipient prefers your using an envelope, you can mail early. Printing your NPCW postcard can be as easy as using your home computer or a printing company. Check your local yellow pages for printers in your area. There are many online printing companies. I can recommend a few if you are interested. If you are interested in trading with many people, please send your name and address to ezrestexas@aol.com or drop me a note at the address below.

You should send your postcard or postcards to: Demaris Swint PO Box 746 Alamo, TX 78516 They will be included in the National Postcard Week Directory, a printed booklet. As well as on the Website. Facebook - search for National Postcard Week. For inclusion in the printed year book of National Postcard Week postcards with addresses of those who will trade with you. I will not be printing the directory until late July to allow for those who are late making their cards. Check out ideas at facebook.com - National Postcard Week there you will find many examples of work done in past years. You should also send your postcard/postcards to:

Barr's Post Card News and Ephemera Magazine National Postcard Week PO Box 720 Vinton IA 52349-0720

They will publish your postcard in their magazine in one of their May issues.

Hello Everyone - My apologies re National Postal Week. I had more trouble than I thought possible getting my postcards printed. Finally got them made and printing will be finished today. (They've promised me!) I will be picking them up this afternoon and mailing them tomorrow morning.) It's taken 3 weeks of blood, sweat and tears to get them done. I think I will start on next years right now. Hope you like my efforts. Take care and happy trading everyone. Chris tinker1945@yahoo.ca

Hello Everyone When I didn't hear from the printers by 4;30 I phoned and they said my order had been sent but that was to another store. My postcards were doubled sided and they don't do double sides here in Kamloops. I've had them printed other years and no problem. I ordered One Day Cards but they've said it will be 3 to 5 days before they are here. I am disappointed as they said it would be 1 day. I will check further next time I am in the store. I am not happy. My apologies to my partners. Take care. Chris tinker1945@yahoo.ca

Hello Everyone, I had trouble with my cards this year and didn't receive them until yesterday. They told me it would be an overnight job and it took 10 days to get here. I was a not happy with them.
I will be doing cards tonight and off to the mail tomorrow.. My apologies. Chris Carney tinker1945@yahoo.ca

My postcards went out today. They didn't arrive until last Friday and we don't have Saturday mail and Monday was a holiday so I took them in this morning. I ope everyone likes my choices - I sent 3. My writing wasn't as good as I'd like so hopefully the PO can get it delivered. Now I have to figure out how to talk to my partners. I just have to think about it for a moment.
