Definition: A snippet is a strip (usually called a roll) of your choice of base medium with layers of embellishments sewn or glued onto it. When you need a belly band or just a "snip" of something cute, you cut the part you want to put into your journal, card (making), artist cards, etc. See the sample picture above, and youtube has fantastic examples and tutorials. ~ 1 Partner, Regional USA ~ Newbie Friendly, not too many derogatory issues. ~ The swap is marked for package in case your strip is bulky, but it can just as easily turn out to be flat mail depending how you make your strip. They can be folded in half. For this swap the sender chooses to make either a fabric strip, a paper strip, or combination of both. Your strip must be 1"- 2" wide, and 10”-12" long. Guide Suggestions (not mandatory). If you make a fabric strip start with a 12 inch long strip and add scraps of lace, ribbon, doily, pretty fabric sections, etc... Then build on that layer with embellishments of your choice. Do the same for paper strips - layer and build upon your foundation strip. You can be really creative with this and I hope you have fun! God bless you. |
