Sorry I'm just posting this now guys, wanted to make sure I can actually do it! Earth Day is April 22nd! Obviously we'll have more time for this swap and we'll be a bit late with this holiday, but it's the fact that we're doing something for it that counts! :) I decided to do a scavenger hunt sort of deal for Earth Day! What we'll be searching/making: ♡Reuse:: Cute shopping tote! Do your part ! Who needs plastic bags laying around anyway? Especially when you can find such cute reusable ones instead! Try to find something made out of cotton/canvas. They last forever and don't hurt your shoulder if you fill them up all the way up:) ♡Reduce:: To go coffee mug or water bottle! Plastic bottles and paper cups often are a big part of landfills and they take some time to biodegrade. Reality Check: The EPA's standards for tap water are more stringent than the FDA's standards for bottle water. And guess what? There are so many cute reusable tumblers and water canteens out there. ♡Recycle:: Something recycled/upcycled! This item can be a vintage find, something you yourself made out of found things or anything that can have another life as something else. The possibilities are endless for this! Just make sure that it is cute and has something to do with the group! ITEMS MUST HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH HARAJUKU STYLE! Even if they're just pink! Think cute! So basically we're looking for a shopping tote (which can be used pretty much everyday..) a water bottle/tumbler (can't survive without fluids!) and something fun that can either be vintage or handmade! ALL are items that can be used and by using them we do our part:) Include a little note with your swap saying how you do your part and maybe include tips on how to make green choices. If you have ANY questions, please let me know. I feel that this is simple enough. Please list any ideas that you can about the recycle part of the swap. I thought this was awesome! Hope many of us join in on this! Why not? :) |
