*****This is the International version***** There is a US-only version as well: http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/99443 Everyone has a useless disc laying around - a music cd you hate & can't get rid of, an outdated computer program cd, a damaged blank disc that won't work, etc. As with an ATC, you will take your spare disc and use it as your foundation. Paint it, engrave it, paper it, sketch on it, collage it, whatever you can dream up. Leave the hole in the middle open so your partner can hang it on their wall with pride if they like. :) I've chosen a theme for this swap, which you can interpret in any way you like. You are the artist. The theme, as noted in the title, is "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue." Your art does -not- need to be wedding-themed (I'm unsure about other countries, but in the US this little phrase pertains to what brides should carry for luck at their wedding). Something "old" could be a page from a vintage book, "new" could be a charm you buy for this project, something "borrowed" could be your sister's nail polish to paint the disc with (or your brother's new GI Joe, but that may start a fight), something "blue" could be a blue ribbon or a sad (feeling blue) kitten image. You get the idea? If you want to take some of your partner's likes into consideration, please do so. If you want your art to be all about you, that's fine too. Decorate one side of the disc, give your artwork a title & write it on the back of the disc along with your username & the date you created it. If you want to write the swap name on it, feel free but it's not necessary - you can write the swap name on a note included with your package or just on the mailing label. For shipping, make a little folder out of cereal box cardboard or reuse a padded envelope. You want the disc to get there in one piece (unless you turn your disc into a jigsaw puzzle, then of course it matters less). This will be relatively cheap shipping costs. If you want to send a regular jewel case (the typical plastic case that music cds come in), that's fine too but postage will be more. The most important requirement is: Have fun with this! Be uninhibited. Don't worry about what someone else will think about what you've done. This is -your- art. You interpret the something old, something new in whatever way you like. No one's art is better or worse than yours. No matter the number of trades someone has, the number of 5's or the number of hearts - you are all equal. If you can't stand that idea, don't sign up. Uncivilized swappers, as usual, will be kicked out of my swaps. New swappers are allowed but please have a profile filled out with lots of information about your likes, hobbies, favorite things, etc. If you don't know yourself, we don't either. |
