I have been struggling with knee pain for several years now. It was so bad on the 14th of December or so that my Surgeon told me he was doing a total knee replacement on the 19th. Had a few headachy moments along the way but made it to the goal date.
Recovery has been difficult, at best. TONS of hope though. I have to believe that the massive swelling in the entire leg will gradually lessen! I have to believe that I will have to use pain pills of any kind less and less until I'm down to ZERO pills!
For this reason, I will be taking a small break/slow down on swapping through SB. There are a couple series that I now host that will be later in the month of January, once I have my recovery under better control. If you need me or have any questions you can still just message me as I get alerts to messages.
Hope everyone had a fabulous Holiday Season and have an auspicious start to the New Year!
My Post Office is experiencing a staffing shortage right now. Some weeks we get all the mail we're supposed to get on a daily basis, other times we get mail once or twice a week.
For this reason I am switching my mailing address for swapping to the following:
Rachael Hectus
P.O. Box 19709
Denver, CO 80219
Please know that as soon as I receive an item from you, I will let you know via a PM, page comment, or rating. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
Please note that I am unable to print at the moment, especially digital downloads. I prefer physical products... just in case there may accidentally be something like digital papers on my Etsy Wishlist. I am sometimes fooled by a listing.
For bath, beauty, and incense items as part of a swap, please review the following as they are the only things I want/need/will use:
shower steamers
bath bombs
body butter
face masks (not scrubs)
sugar scrubs for the body not face
backflow or stick incense (have holders)
And preferred scents include:
any kind of lemon- including lemongrass
any kind of orange

jasmine (love this scent)
sandlewood
spearmint mixes
cherry blossom
musks
lavender mixes
dragon's blood

Thank you so much for reading!
I'm married to the love of my life and ever so grateful he is alive! He almost died several times between May 2022 and January 2023. He took until April 2023 to completely and totally heal from the experience.
My husband and I (and our remaining dog) are grieving the loss (07/03/2023) of our 14 year old Lhaso/Shitzu mix, Cookie Tank. He was a wonderfully faithful companion. We are spending extra quality time with our 9 year old Besingey, Osey (short for Osiris Anubis Hectus), as he is missing his buddy. They were very close.
I am disabled and dealing with my own health issues keeps me busy. I struggle with CPTSD in addition to my physical difficulties. I am active in therapy and work closely with my Psychiatrist.
During the spring and summer months I love to garden and grow container flowers and produce. I used to have a black thumb, but this last year (2022), I did pretty well at keeping everything alive and even thriving. I'm a huge lover of nature and try to partake of her beauty as often as I'm able.
I'm not very religious in the sense of church politics and such, but I am profoundly spiritual. I refer to myself as having a higher power and leave it at that. I don't force my views or beliefs on others and appreciate the same courtesy extended to me. I do love relevant Bible verses, Buddhist teachings, knowledge of nature, and such. I don't subscribe to messages of hate or discrimination. There's just not enough time given to us, as a species, to waste any of it on anything but unity, peace, and goodwill.
However, I am a hard fast Libertarian. I love my country and appreciate our Military. I am a staunch supporter of the Constitution and am always grateful for the rights afforded me.
Halloween/Samhain is my absolute favorite holiday and I love to do crafts themed in that vein all year round. I am especially fond of Nightmare Before Christmas. Tim Burton ROCKS! But he is second to my hero Guillermo del Toro. I have seen everything he's done!
I enjoy EVERY type of music except rap/jazz. I'm more into mood and feeling when it comes to what I listen to. I am fond of discovering new music so welcome input.
Different artists I'm fond of includes:
Nine Inch Nails, Metallica, Taylor Swift, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, Il Volo, Sarah Brightman, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Pink, Ennio Morricone, Enya, The Eagles, Ray Stevens, Weird Al Yankovic, The Fray, Andrea Bocelli, Imagine Dragons, Tori Amos, Meatloaf, Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Dido, and many, many more.
I'm more about the melody and lyrics than I am the actual group or singer. I may only like one single song by an artist for this reason. I'm the farthest thing from a fan girl you can get!
I have always been a voracious reader of fiction. Lately I have discovered non-fiction and am eager to discover what's out there. I like narrative stories of things that actually happened. My all-time favorite author is still Dean Koontz and I have recently gained a great fondness for Ryan Holiday.
I took a long break from reading around 2020 and am finally feeling a pull to start again in 2023.
I love it all; ATCs, die-cuts and stamps, washi tapes, handmade journals (think junk journals), journal pages, folios, flipbooks, mail art, cloth "stuffies" (dolls and stuffed creations), letters, tea swaps, handmade envelopes/pockets, and ephemera swaps, to name a few.
