I am 42 yrs old, mom of 3, married 23 years, our kids ages are 23, 15, 12. I am a real estate agent in Missouri. We live in a small town now, we were from St. Louis & even though its hard to get used to always having to buy your groceries at WalMart.... we love the small town atmosphere! I started sewing in 8th grade home ec class, but with no money to buy fabrics... couldn't really continue until I was pregnant with our first, then I started making his blankets, and some clothes. After our daughter was born, I really went full gear sewing almost all her clothes. I started quilting about 1997, when we got on the internet and I joined about every swap I could! I LOVED it! It was instant pen pals from around the world and I have loved quilting every since!
Due to work and family, I had to quit swapping and the round robins I loved so much, for several years, and now want to swap again, on a smaller scale.... because I want to have time to actually quilt too! :-)
I am new to Swap Bot, but have been on the net swapping since 1997, and LOVE it! I promise to rate you, and will understand if life happens and your running late, please just send me a note. I know sometimes life happens on my end, and I so appreciate the kind hearted who also understand.
Quilting!
Sewing, Used to cross stitch... I have TONS of patterns from the mid 80's to early 90's if anyone needs any, I would glady copy & send to you.
I like to make crafts of all kinds
Always, City of Angels, Untouchables, It's a Wonderful Life, Forest Gump, Lion King, Fox & Hound, Fried Green Tomato's
I know there are more... I will add as I remember.
Desperate Housewives, Greys Anatomy, Trauma in the ER (on Discovery), First 48 Hours (real life crime)
What fabrics don't I love?? Is what my hubby would say!
I love the Moda Marbles, Civil War Reproductions, Batiks, Brights, Florals
Japanese fabrics - they are beautiful!
I am a confessed fabricholic! I am slightly ashamed at the amount of my stash, and the amount of my stash became blaringly obvious when we were moving! Some of you ladies will know what I'm talking about.... you come in from yet another trip to a fabric store, and try to keep the noisy plastic bag quiet, while you run to stash your latest goody! Well ALL my goodies were exposed when we moved! :-) Thank the good Lord above that my hubby is a wonderful and VERY patient man! He never would complain, even when we really did not have the money to be spending on fabric, he always said as long as it makes me happy. He's a KEEPER & I love him so much!
Blues, Pinks, Purples, Burgundy's/Mauves, I'm easy to please. I guess I just don't really like the black fabric or very many grays.
My hubby would probably say "what don't she collect". :-)
Depression glass, Mayfair Open Rose Pattern,
Vintage sewing machines,
Vintage sewing related items: buttons, needle cards, sewing kits, sewing machine manuals, parts etc.
USA stamps & Philippine stamps, (just started Philippines, I thought it would be cool, since my grandfather came from there when he was 8.
Fabrics... of course.
Butterflies - not real ones, please. like pins, jewelry, bookmarks, stationary etc. They have a special meaning to me.
Composition dolls,
Vintage fabric blocks or quilt tops,
doiles,
In fabrics, I don't need or use: canvas, velvets, flannel, wools, I don't like the flavored teas, sorry, I just like plain regular tea. I never could drink coffee. I love the smell, but can't stand anything coffee flavored/scented at all. Strawberries, or anything strawberry flavored/scented.
gel pens, plastic quilt templates, fabric markers, , fabric charms, (really need & use 2" to 5") notecards, stationary, anything sewing related & old, vintage buttons, vintage doll clothes, ribbons, scraps of fabrics, post its, quilt block patterns, anything handmade! love handmade potholders, ornaments, knick knacks, butterfly related anything, I am really super easy to please. I do not expect anything extra, and am greatful for anything I receive.
