I love nature, bird watching, zoos and aquariums , museums, jigsaw puzzles, and trivia. I would love to travel more.
I have two cats, a rabbit and a frog (my Daughter's). The frog passed away but we now have two dogs. Over the years our family has owned dogs, cats, gerbils, hamsters, rabbits, fish, frogs, snakes, and lizards (bearded dragon).
I am in my mid 50's. I have two grown/nearly grown daughters. I recently returned to school to earn a degree in journalism/film. A few years ago I went white water rafting for the first time and I loved it.
I like to go bird watching. It's a good way to get out in nature.
I have currently taken up learning to spin poi.
My all time favorite TV show is Farscape. I like several scifi shows including Stargate SG1 & Atlantis and Star Trek (all versions but particularly Next Gen).
My current favorites are The Walking Dead and Big Bang Theory. My daughter introduced me to Sherlock and I really like that too. I have recently started watching and catching up with Game of Thrones.
I keep getting hooked on shows where everyone dies.
My all time favorite book is The Lord of the Rings. I also fell in love with the Harry Potter series. But I like a wide variety of fiction from authors such as Janet Evanovich, Nora Roberts, Alan Dean Foster and Stephen King (the only horror writer I can read).
And I read a lot of non-fiction.
I like a wide variety of films. In every genre there is probably something I like. Some of my favorites are The Lord of the Rings, Dances with Wolves, Avatar, Galaxy Quest, Finding Nemo, The Big Year, and Steel Magnolias. This is by no means all the movies I like. I could probably make a list of 500 films that I like without breaking a sweat.
I like most any movie with Pierce Brosnan, Jacky Chan, or Meryl Streep in it.
My favorite category of music is classic rock. Most anything from the 60's, 70's, and 80's.
I also am a big fan of the new age artist Steve Gordon. He does primarily Native American influenced New Age.
I have dabbled in a number of craft mediums over the years including pottery, cross stitch, macrame, miniatures, and leather crafting. I've also done pottery.
Because of my fascination with ATCs I've begun dabbling with drawing/painting. My pieces are crude but I'm learning and they'll get better.
I recently received a pair of handmade earrings made from acorns a friend of my daughter made.
I will do my best to send everything by the deadlines. I don't have any particularly strong dislikes of what theme not to send. At least not yet.
I do like receiving creative things. Handmade is fine as long as its not just stickers slapped on a piece of cardboard. That said, I like stickers. I just like for them to be artfully employed. I've seen scrapbook pages that used stickers beautifully.
I like:
Kingfishers (from the N. American Belted to the Australian Kookaburra) Owls Pierced Earrings (Except big hoops) Coffee Teas All kinds Dark Chocolate The Green Lantern Notebooks Soft fluffy socks Receiving Mail Shot Glasses (I collect them from places I visit) Theater Bath salts
I dislike:
Mint anything Rose scented things (I do like the scent of real roses)
