I am Sharon, a retired children’s librarian and teacher. I have lived in Texas, California, Hawaii and Oregon. I have 4 children, all grown and doing well. One son and his family lives in New Zealand; I visited there in January to see them and to attend my daughter's wedding. I love the beach and swimming in the ocean. My favorite music is classical and "New Age". I put on Pandora every morning to listen to soothing music as I watch it rain in Oregon! I listen to books on Audible as it allows me to work and listen at the same time. I enjoy murder mysteries, high fantasy, and science fiction. My work these days is cleaning up my home and doing yard work. There was a huge ice storm here while I was goine to NZ which created a big mess in my yard.
I enjoy science fiction movies (not horror) and documentaries and murder mysteries. Same with TV.
I have been crocheting for almost 50 years and doing some knitting too. I also sew, making tote bags and small pillows to give to the homeless shelter, to the hospital and to schools. My daughter in law introduced me to Swap-bot and since I have collected so many paper goods over the years, I feel like this would be a fun craft to do.
I have one pug dog and two cats that all stay inside with me. Curly the pug down get out but he doesn't like the rain!
I like to garden, but much I the things I have planted have been eaten up by deer.. My yard is part of their path to other yards and feeding grounds so I just try to keep the yard cleaned up of leaves and downed branches.
Welcome to Spring in Oregon! I am still adjusting to moving downstairs to the open basement we have. My son and his family have moved into the top part of the house. We are renovating the house including new roof, pruning trees, painting, replacing old pipes, rewiring, new lights, new driveway, etc. Lots of rain so lawn is overgrown but still very wet with all the rain we have had. Pond is full and very brown with reeds and frogs croaking.
