I love getting things in the mail, both E- and snail, so this site helps to facilitate that! I like to be active, even if it is sitting on the couch knitting. I'm a science geek, I like learning about what things are and how they work. I also read a lot, mostly science fiction, and environmental themed non-fiction. I like to hike/camp, swim, ski, jigsaw puzzles, games, and word finds!
I don't watch a lot of TV, and the movies we watch are mostly obscure ones my husband picks out. I do like some of the older movies, like "Breakfast at Tiffany's", "All About Eve", and "Some Like it Hot", but I mostly like comedies!
I also like music, but couldn't tell you the title or artist for most of what I listen to. I was in band for YEARS and like to pull out some of the instruments and jam once in a while.
I collect stamps, so if you have interesting/unusual/non-U.S. stamps I would love you to send me my swaps using actual stamps (to be canceled) if possible! Also, if you tear the corners off your letters with the stamps still attached and send them in the envelope, that would be great as well!
I love crafting, dabbling in almost everything, from cooking to gardening, from knitting to sewing, and embroidery, some scrapbooking, jewelery making, and probably more that I can't think of right now!
I would love to be able to do more drawing/painting, maybe some of my swapping will help with that!
It's really hard to choose favorite books. I read a lot of junk as well as really good stuff. I am not really into romance novels. I read literature and non-fiction, cookbooks, magazines, and the funny pages! My favorite genres are SciFi/Fantasy, followed by Mythology and Environmental non-fiction. I don't know that I can say that I have a favorite book since there are so many, but I fall back on childhood favs all the time. Watership Down, The Hobbit, and Alice in Wonderland to name a few.
My Likes are:
tea of all kinds (except Lipton brand)
art (though I'm not an expert by any means)
jewel and earth tones
handmade crafts
autumn/fall
science related stuff, specifically biology/environmental science
colored pencils and crayons
nature/outdoors
cat/dog person
stickers
I do not like or appreciate:
coffee
items smelling of cigarette smoke
pink
political agendas or offensive materials
lots of glitter (a little is ok)
I would love to recieve:
beads
buttons
yarn from natural fibers
favorite recipes (I'm vegetarian, so no meat please!)
fabric
stationary
canceled stamps

Hi! I'm one of your partners for the "What a LOVELY comment on my profile! #2" swap.
Just wanted to say that I enjoyed reading your profile. It sounds like you have a lot of fun things to do in your life.
I used to collect stamps when I was much younger, but stopped when I lost everything in college. Your comments about collecting them have gotten me interested in possibly starting again.

I enjoyed reading your profile! I also love romantic novels and autumn/fall is also my favorite season of the year. I love all the pretty leaves! I hope that you are having a great day!
Sent your black color swap!
I just wanted to let you know again how much your wonderful envie was appreciated. It's like you read my mind with the Sublime Stitching patterns you sent...just last week I was whining about how they updated the pattern sheet of that one and I had for some reason never bought the old one. It was serendipitous!
welcomt to swap bot!!!!
