I like everything except classic country and really obnoxious rap music. Some current fav's are:
Avicii, One Republic, Imagine Dragons, ZZ Ward, Florence + the Machine (this is an all time fav!), Blackmill, Morning Parade, The Civil Wars, Bombay Bicycle Club, Of Monsters and Men, Morgan Page
Time to confess! I am a BIG reader and I'm currently in a YA fantasy stage. So, if it's current and YA, I've probably read it.
Favorite Authors include: Neil Gaiman (stardust, Neverwhere, American Gods), Susanne Collins (Hunger games), LJ Smith (any and everything she writes), and Kelly Armstrong.
However, I also read (and reread) and lot of Austen and Bronte (squared)
Currently catching up on Grimm.
Obsessed with: Criminal Minds, The Vampire Diaries
And wish they would bring back: Lie to me, Pushing Daisies
I create my own vintage stationary and am a book binder. I also repurpose/upcycle furniture on a regular basis. And my "how to" board on Pinterest probably has more pins than all of my other boards combined. So it's safe to say I am indeed crafty (but in a good way; not the sneaky fox kind of way)
Why is this box the hardest one to fill?
About me..ok..let's see.
I teach English for a living to international students from all over the world, and I like cats. Even though I teach English, I'm a horrible speller. My favorite time of year is Autumn. I like the smell. I like Pringles, I just finished off my boyfriend's can while typing this. Shh, don't tell him.
Hm..what else...I don't have a favorite color. I like old vintage stuff. I have to sleep with my feet tugged in under the covers so the monsters don't get me while I sleep. And my blood type is A- ...in case of emergencies.
I live in Houston with my Turkish boyfriend and my kitty named Yoda. We enjoy looking out the window and taunting the birds and squirrels that live in the tree outside my apartment. When I have free time I'm usually baking or cooking dinner for friends and playing cards. I bake A LOT of cookies and sweets so hopefully, once I get better acquainted with how things work here I'd love to do some cookie swaps!
Other likes: colored pens
Halloween
anything vintage from before the 1940's
chocolate
cooking/baking stuff
BOOKS (seriously...i LOVE books)
bath stuff (you know...the good smelling stuff...but I am allergic to lavender)
scifi/fantasy/fairy tale
nail polish (no pink, purple or red please. I have a MILLION of these)
facials/face masks
anything glittery
candles
fun packing tape/washi tape/deco tape
octopi
woodland animal themed anything
Other dislikes: kid themed anything, personal political opinions, religious messages (this is a private matter to me)
ALLERGIC TO: lavender
Also...I recycle my mailers, unless I just don't have any lying around, then I'll go and buy a new one. This means I can spend more on the items I'm sending you and less on postage. Plus, isn't it nice to leave the earth a bit greener?
Dear veterans of swap bot,
As a newbie, I think that it's great that standards are set here and that some members, due to their newness are prohibited from joining certain swaps. This allows us time to learn and get the hang of things.
However, since being a member for less than a month now, I've also seen some nastiness. Snippy and outright rude comments haven't been directed at me but this still scares the pants off me. What if I end up a swap partner with one of these people? What if something that I've worked hard on doesn't live up to the standards of another? I thought this was supposed to be a happy place to share things. Didn't we get enough drama in middle school? Like I said, nothing has been directed at me thus far, but seeing this behavior from veterans does make a newbie apprehensive to join and stay.
I simply state this here to let others know that if I see this I will drop/leave/not join a swap or group. I simply don't need the negativity.
As of today...December 4th 2013, I'm taking a short break from swap bot for the holidays to work on crafting Christmas gifts. I'll be back in January though and can't wait to swap in 2014.
Oh..also... I'll continue to rate for the swaps I just completed but won't be joining any new swaps for a few weeks. Happy holidays!

So glad that you are interested in ASBB! I think that you would be a very fun addition to the group. I hope that you will find some swaps that interest you and share your ideas with us in the forums :)
Hi! I'm your partner for the Ernie the envie themed swap, I'm doing something new this time, stepping outside the box, and I hope you will like it! Your profile is great too, especially that last paragraph. I totally agree with you!
Hi! I'm looking through profiles before I assign partners for the alice in wonderland envie swap and I totally agree with your last paragraph here! I've seen a few nasty profiles as well! I completely understand that no one wants to get flaked on, but to be outright hateful and making lists of non-raters, etc.... it turns a lot of new people off to swap-bot. Anyway, I'm glad you signed up for my swap and I hope you get something nice in the mail from it :)) -TrixieShakewell
Hello there I'm your partner for the skull/skeleton ATC swap. I just read your profile and I loved it your so funny. The part about tucking your feet in the blanket really made me laugh I do the same thing ha ha. I also liked the bit at the end about the negativity and I completely agree I'm new to swapping but I actually joined a long time ago and was to intimidated to start swapping. I have to say I've done a few swaps and have had nothing but positive feed back and I really do hope it continues it can be hard to put yourself out there. Well anyway have a wonderful day and I do hope you like my ATC when you receive it, I'm very exited I think this has been my favorite swap yet!
Welcome to the I ⤠Halloween (USA) swap!
