I live with my husband, cat and dog in sunny and hot Florida. I enjoy running (completed my first half marathon Nov. 2015!), baking, reading, photography and crafting.

For crafting I love to:

1) Quilt/sew - pin cushions, bags, mini quilts and lap quilts. One day I'll be brave enough to conquer a bed size quilt! I recently installed my first zipper in a bag and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Some of my favorite fabric designers are: Tanya Whelan, Tina Givens and Cori Dantini.
I like Kona cotton when picking out solid colors. I don't personally use many batiks when I sew, but they do have lovely designs. Love to sew for the home and when a baby is involved (there are so many cute bibs to be made!).
I don't have a favorite block from The Farmer's Wife book. I'm new to paper piecing, so any block that turns out the way it should is a good block! 2) Knit - scarves, shawls and hats. Unfortunately even small amounts of wool makes me itch, so it's nice that there are so many different types of (non-wool) yarn available. Next thing I'm going to try and tackle is knitting a pair of socks. 3) Crochet - Amigurumi (I've made quite a few of the designs from Ana Paula Rimoli's books) and baby blankets.
4) Cross-stitch.

Living in FL, I am unmotivated to knit year round. I prefer to knit when the weather gets "cold" (highs in the 60's (Fahrenheit) is cold for me).
I like modern fabrics and colors, my favorite colors are light greens and blues. I'm not a big fan of traditional colors/prints (muddy browns, dark red, denim, etc). Though traditional fabrics have their place when I make gifts for other people.

Items I would like to receive in a sewing swap: small bags, mini wall hanging (I recently moved to a new house and the walls are pretty bare), pot holder or mug rug.

Non-sewing inclusions: a favorite recipe (something your area of the world is known for), writing pad, headband.
