About Me

I am a preschool teacher by day, and a crafter by night. I love making things for school (felt board stories, games, displays) and at home I do art journals, scrapbooking, cards, etc. Oh yeah, and I have a serious love for pens!

I am also a mom of a 22 year old son...he's now in college 2 1/2 hours north of here.

I like to hike, play in the snow, dance, write, and read. I would love to travel.

I LOVE TO SWAP...and if you have not received something from me, please let me know so I can resend!

Favorite Books

I love books and have gone through different book reading and collecting periods in my life. There was the nutrition and natural healing book stage, then the children's book stage, the teaching book stage (I have a huge collection of preschool teaching books!), and now I am starting to collect art journaling, rubber stamping, collage type books.

I read historical fiction (love medieval times) and love to be transported to another era through reading. I also like science fiction and fantasy. Let me know if you have read any books in these genres and can recommend!

Recent favorites: The Dovekeepers, The Blade Itself, Game of Thrones, 11/22/63,

I am a member at paperbackswap.com and if you want to trade for credits, that may be possible!

Favorite Music

if you looked at my ipod playlists, you'd find everything from the Beatles, to Cake, Erykah Badu to Elvis, lots of dance tunes (old school, YMCA, Michael Jackson), Michael Franti, and a lot of kids stuff too!

Favorite Crafts

Ok...mostly I do papercrafting of one sort or another. I like to make cards using rubber stamps, glimmer mist, embossing...I use my cricut machine and sizzix. I have an art journal....lots of collage work and lettering/doodling...I make inchies and hope to have enough for a collage some day! I make games for my preschool kids, home-made books, felt stories. I am learning how to sew...yea! inspiration from you: your artwork/craft!

Wish List/Likes

CRAFT TYPE WISHES

deco and washi tape

pens: I have a JetPens addiction. I like to try gel ink pens, journal pens, craft pens

ephemera: any cool looking paper

stamps

if you are from another country, I'd some newspaper or other print in your language!

mail art

zentangles

button collection and would love more pretty and unusual ones!

doilies

stationary, note cards

I'm learning to sew, so pieces of fabric would be great!

My favorite colors are blues, purples, magenta, turquoise,....

Inchie supplies: I'm still learning

tiny die cuts/ hole punch cut outs

rubber stamps and acrylic/cling stamps

tiny stamps for inchies!

nestabilities (if you have some, let's talk about a trade/swap!)

Christmas/holiday ornaments

felt

lumieres (want to try these)

items for my science area (I am a preschool teacher): special gem/rocks/minerals, feathers, cool/unusual pine cones/seeds, etc.

gloves or mittens for preschoolers (again for my Head Start kids who sometimes don't have any!)

preschool sized aprons

timers (sand or kitchen)

cute pincushions

THEMES I like: owls woodland butterflies dragonflies clouds birds robots rainbows

OTHER LIKES/WISHES:

coffee

make-up samples (philosophy, anything from Sephora)...I have dark, almost black, hair, and dark brown eyes...olive skin...Love lip glosses, sheer lip colors, eyeliner, will try eyeshadow, but need help figuring out how to wear it! I love make up but don't like to look heavily made up!

hand cream

perfume samples

milk chocolate

jelly bellies

sour candies

earring studs (love the tiny "crystal" types)

gummy bears

NOT SO FOND OF: I'm not a big fan of "cute", though some deco tapes and stickers are fun...hate pastels (the colors!)...I don't use brads so the baggies of random fasteners are best kept for more of a scrapbooker (I do more journal stuff), but mostly...I appreciate anything thoughtfully sent...If I can't use it, I will find someone who can!

I have to offer

usually have lots of deco tape pens and markers lots of scrapbook and collage papers die cuts (Cricut) beads my own cards, felt board stories, games...

Comment: I just love the envelope you made! It's gorgeous! And the stationery is too. Thanks so much! (And yes, a cottage in France is possible, but in our case, only because it's going to be a very very small one and nowhere near Paris or the Mediterranean! Lol) Happy New Year! :)

Hi! I got your green inchies today. Thanks! I teach high school English--I don't think I could handle the pre-school age! I am on Goodreads. There are so many good books to recommend! I did a favorite book bracket for a swap and my top books ended up being The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver, The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield, and Blindness by Jose Saramago. Maybe you'll like them.

I updated the rules in The Bargain Boutique and asked that everyone read and sign them. Unfortunately I don't see your name so I had to remove you. If you'd like to rejoin please let me know. Thanks!

No way, its not weird to say you liked it. We are all fascinated by death in some sort as it is unknown to us;) I hope we get to swap again sometime too!
