Aren't these hard to write; to sum up one's self in a small box so that someone may feel like they can get to know you?
I'll give it a try....
I'm a smart and sassy girl who needs to come to terms with being an actual woman (age-wise). I have a sweet little boston terrier and red haired husband/partner. I live in a beautiful oceanside city that's crammed with tourists 50% of the year and raining the other 50%. I'm from the prairies and miss the long hot summers and only recently realized that I've never walked through a wheat field.
Loves: travelling, reading, Jane Austen and Vincent van Gogh. All British stuff, antique furniture and chabby chic. Really kitschy stuff that makes me smile. Owls. Any & all Boston Terrier goodness. Funky and unique kitchen towels. Good food, great wine. Orange and red flowers; Gerberas, Dahlias, Hydrangeas, Cherry Blossoms.
I'm a lipgloss and lotion addict. The crazier the packaging the better. Sweet scents like candy, fruit and flowers. I like my lipgloss to be shiny and light in colour to colourless. I'm always burning a pumpkin spice candle inthe autumn/winter and pear ones in the summer.
Are there any drinks better than lime margaritas or rootbeer? I love mostly anything in those flavours.
I'm really into India(n) culture right now. I think it's a fascinating culture & I'd love to travel there.
I'm all about foreign films. Love Aussie and British stuff. Dramas and some chick flicks, documentaries.
any Pride and Prejudice, Circle of Friends, Secrets & Lies, East is East, Partition, Sliding Doors, Muriel's Wedding, Pricilla Queen of the Desert, Goodfellas, As Good as it Gets, The Shining, Juno, The Pianist, Elizabeth, 13 going on 30, Eastern Promises, Trainspotting, Bridges of Madison County, Notes on a Scandal, The Namesake, The Score + a million more that I am omitting....
or really anything with these actors: Cate Blanchett, Toni Collette, Viggo Mortensen, Ed Norton, Jack Nicholson, Kate Winslet, Clive Owen, Mark Ruffalo, Colin Firth...
I set a goal to read 50 books a year and have fallen short because I am too busy. And determined. If I am reading a terrible book; I'll finish it no matter how long it takes me. I have no idea why. I own bookshelves upon bookshelves of books and keep them in pristine condition. I'm not a fan of loaning out my books because I am overly anal about it, but I do collect cool bookmarks.
Some favourites are: The Kite Runner, Memoirs of a Geisha (not that awful movie however) She's Come Undone, White Oleander, Summer Sisters, Pride & Prejudice, Jane Eyre, A Fine Balance, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. And of course, I completelhy love Twilight and the rest of those books.
I'm kind of over tv. There never seems to be anything on anymore. When I do tune in it because of Coronation Street, Footballer's Wives, MVP, The Hour, Flip this House, No Reservations, and Barefoot Contessa. Big Brother is definitley a guilty pleasure. Recently, I rented Grey's Anatomy and holy-hannah, I wish I started watching this before. Now I am addicted! & I usually keep food tv on as background, rather than the radio!
A fairly new knitter. I can do more than a scarf or tea towel fairly well. I'm learning socks!
I already own too many skiens of yarn and wool. :)
I do like funky, kitschy jewelry, but that shouldn't be confused with cheap or tacky. And I'm all about trollbead bracelets right now.
I'd love to take a handblown glass class.
I enjoy baking and cooking - when I get a good recipe to try. I love regional stuff that's home-like. Southern, Mexican, Italian, Korean, Eastern European. I'm a dessert fanatic and only wish that they didn't come with calories. I equally like sweet and salty snacks. I don't like cheap, wax filled chocolate!!! Gross. If you're going to eat, eat well.
I ♥ postcard recipe swaps. It's not easy to get a heart on these, and I don't really expect too, but I always try and buy food related cards or something that may match your profile. And I only send recipes that I actually make. I really take the time on these ones, so I hope you do too.
It seems everyone loves tea on swap-bot, but I'm old school black. I just like ceylon, darjeeling, English Breakfast and Earl Grey. Okay, I do really love rooibos too. I love really (I mean really) good coffee and stuff related to it.
I really enjoy Christmas, but I am not one of those Christmas nuts. I love european santas ornaments, angels and owls. I'm now into those birds that my mom put on the tree in the 70s/80s which I thought were ridiculous.
I read too many magazines and would think something from your part of the world would be extremely cool. :)
...these things don't make me smile: anything USA geared. I'm Canadian. Nothing overly patriotic, I'm not into dolls, neon colours, country (as in the farm) items, Disney stuffs and other cartoon-y things (although I don't mind the occasional asian item), flavoured/herbal teas (which is unfortunate, because I like to try them again and again), brown lipglosses, yarn (I have too much yarn) anything cigarette related.
