My name is Julie Happy and I live in Jacksonville, Florida.
My last name is Happy, and I am! But, I cry on everything! music, movies, cartoons and even McDonalds commercials. ( just ask my friends who dare go see a movie with me and my towel )
Married to Mr. Happy ;) We own a boring composites business, but sleeping with the boss has its perks!
I love living in Florida and so I love vintage Florida anything, especially things about Weeki Wachee Springs and the Weeki Wachee mermaids,Silver Springs and Johnny Weismueller as Tarzan.
I love southern food ( not exclusively ) grits and greens and country fried steak, yum yum so I can't eat it often!
I cook like a pro, try new recipes weekly.
Israel Kamakawiwoʻole, UB40 and Ska , Phantom of the Opera,Gypsy Kings, aboriginal music. PANDORA!
Jane Eyre is my favorite book ever! abridged ,unabridged love them all
I also loved the Notebook and The First Ladies Detective Agency and Chocolat.
I read all of the Harry Potters and loved all of them and the movies. Best bonding with my kids ever as they all 3 loved them . Where the crawfish sing!!! great
The Whale Rider is probably my favorite movie. If you have not seen this movie, stop, find it and be amazed. There is a reason Keisha Castle-Hughes was nominated for an Oscar!
Lagaan, Chocolat, Jane Eyre ( with William Hurt ) Rabbit Proof Fence, Full Monty, Something New ( my movie I watch to cheer me up when I rarely need it ), Beauty Shop, all the Harry Potters!
Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
2021 THE PEANUT BUTTER FALCON is amazing! weird name but the reason for the name will become clear. so so so good! and Shia Labouf is so awesome and so is Zak. I am obsessed with this movie because it is SO GOOD. If you don't see it
not a ton of tv, but I love Cooking shows.
collage ATC's , that sadly is it. Can't draw, can't paint, can't sew, really can't do things like crochet or knit! I really wish I had skills, I have lots of ideas but just can't make them come to fruition, but I will keep on trying. I also make hand made soap because I am a soap snob.
I have 8 acres with a ridiculous amount of weeds with some really cool plants stuck here and there. My two favorite plants are a Banana Magnolia that smells like banana pudding and my lemon grass. I grow a ton of herbs! Regular ones and kind of exotic ones. I have turmeric and cardamom. When I harvest my herbs I let then dry then I crush them up cut squares of cheese cloth and wrap the herbs up in a ball shape and tie them shut. I give them away, they are for tossing in with cooking things like soups or stews for seasoning then you just pull out the ball before serving. ,
my husband took me to Australia and it was simply wonderful.... we went to the outback, alice springs, brisbane, great barrier reef! I rode a camel, hugged a roo and swam in the reef.
also got to go to New Zealand. Wow! In two weeks we went from the top to the bottom! It is a pretty and amazing country. Very beautiful! Saw and ate many new things! Went to a maori hangi ( feast ) so fun! Food was cooked under ground in a pit. Discovered Pavlova. Yummy.
2018 went to Alaska. Went charter fishing for halibut, rode in a bush plane around glaciers, Went up to Danali.
Spent Christmas in 2019 in Finland. wow! Learned new things like Finnish traditions at Christmas
The only thing I dislike is mean spirited people, people who try to intimidate you with religion or anything and shove it down your throat, anything political and above all any kind of prejudice ! No prejudice against any religion , race, orientation
I hate to be picky and petty so I won't be too picky however I will say I am not into cutesy things, no goth no religious please. I guess I really love vintage and romantic!
.
I love spices and have a collection of flavored salts. I

I really liked Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman. That and the Crawdads book were probably my top 2 favorite reads of 2020 😊
I'm excited that find out the word that makes you laugh! 😂 Funny because we have a bird sanctuary across the street, what are the chances?! I saw a snowy owl for the first time the other day and it was so magical. Although I am jealous that you have flowers that smell like banana pudding. The only thing we have are carrot-scented flowers. Not as fun. Did you end up finishing the Crawdads book? The ending was quite something. I didn't know about the movie, that will be great!
