Hiya! I'm a 31 year old female living in Germany. I'm a high school language teacher (English and German) and I'm most passionate about traveling, cooking, snail mail/penpaling and papercrafts. I have a multitude of creative and (some might argue) retirement-appropriate hobbies, ranging from those I dedicate all my free time to (currently: sketching, acrylic and watercolor painting, journaling, letter writing, happy mail) and those half-forgotten in boxes under my bed (aka embroidery, soap and jewelery making, scrapbooking, etc.).
A NOTE ON SWAPS
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, swaps might take additional time to arrive. Please get in touch before rating me for a swap you haven't received. I'm keeping track of how long swaps are traveling (currently between 2-6 weeks to destinations in North America, up to 3 months to Asian countries).
Please note: I mark my swaps as "sent" the day I drop them off into a mailbox. These mailboxes might not be emptied and the swaps stamped until the day after (or the Monday after, if it's the weekend). If you find that a swap has been stamped later than the "sent" date, it is due to that.
I've had pen pals from all across the globe since my early teen years. Exchanging mail and small gifts has sparked my interest in learning about how people live in different parts of the world, the languages they speak, the things they collect, the food they enjoy, the art they make and what they feel passionate about. I will try to go out of my way to make people happy - I hope this passion will show in the things I send.
I appreciate swaps that show the sender has put time and thought into what they put together. I feel like it's very disheartening to receive sloppily assembled bits and pieces that show little consideration for my likes or dislikes.

❤ homemade paper (samples)
❤ letter-writing paper/sheets from notepads
❤ paper doilies (any size, any color)
❤ anything matcha tea related :)
❤ vintage book pages, illustrations (esp. flowers, plants, birds and maps), sheet music, ephemera (esp. tickets, note sheets, ...), etc.
❤ drip coffee bags & tea bags (all are welcome!)
❤ postcards from United States National Parks, especially the vintage series/editions (illustrations rather than photography)
❤ Japanese & Korean stationery (e.g. La Dolce Vita, Suatelier stickers, MT washi tape, Artbox characters, etc.)
❤ If you're in the US and can get your hands on Ranch dressing/dip seasoning mixes, I would be forever grateful! :) They are impossible to find in Germany and it looks like I won't be able to travel to the US for a while to stock up :(
❤ customized return address labels
❤ wax sealing beads (any colors are welcome)
❤ good quality (!) sticky notes (the ones that actually stick to paper or smooth surfaces)
★ Botanicals (esp. vintage botanicals, house plants, etc.)
★ color-themed (my favorites are yellow, neutrals, blue, dark green and earthy tones)
★ universe/astrology (stars, planets, skies)
★ travel-themed
★ food-related
★ postal/mail-themed
I consider it common courtesy not to send items I wouldn't like receiving myself (such as poor quality items, broken, ripped or torn, etc.) - after all, we're all here to enjoy swapping and bring joy to our swap partners. That being said - I'm not too picky (because I can always pass on things I don't have a use for), but these are items that I prefer less:
♦ 3D and puffy stickers
♦ any type of postcards (except for the ones listed on my wishlist) - I don't collect or send them, please save them for someone who does!
♦ page flags (sticky note 'strips') - I have started using reusable ones and no longer have a use for paper ones
♦ things with mundane/trite phrases - think "Keep calm and...", "live, laugh, love", "I love you", etc. - this includes stickers and die cuts especially.
♦ childish things, e.g. Disney, cartoon-characters, reward stickers, free/ad stickers (e.g. those that come in cereal boxes or candy bars)
♦ photos of animals (illustrations are fine)
♦ bookmarks (I have far too many and only ever need one)
♦ religious (except for Buddhism) and holiday-related (Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, etc.) items; please no Americana/USA flags
♦ smiley faces and emojis
