Hello there! What to say...what to say...Well I am a married mother of 2 fab-u-lous kids. We all live very close to the beach in CA (the north part). I work occasionally, filling in at a local scrapbook shop, and teaching assorted artsy and papery classes there as well. I have been an avid yahoo groups swapper (lots of ATCs, and altered arts). I am excited to be a part of a new swap community and look forward to many future swaps.

I like lots of stuff! Fave colors are dark deep reds, most autumn hues, and aqua watery colors (teal, turquoise, etc). I am interested in trading artsy handmade stuff as well as ephemera and supplies. I like Vintage (I love vintage photographs and cabinet cards), Grunge (think Tim Holtz and Michael Demeng, and steampunk), and Nature styles (Birds, plants, bugs and flowers). Halloween, bats and vampire-ish goodies are always fun! Oooh, and anything circus related! I am an avid Rubber stamper and love collecting and incorporating stamped images into my artwork. I am not afraid of "cutsey" stuff (I heart kawaii), but "country cute" is not my fave. :) I recently finished a Suzi Blu course, so I am a bit obsessed w/ drawing, and the big eyed pretty girl look right now.

I am not easily offended, but I generally stay away from religious and political themes...just don't like the drama that so often happens w/ that. I also shy away from really gore filled art, it's just not my thing. Oh, and I think clowns are kind of creepy...but I have a strange attraction to them, weird huh?

I really like making stuff. Some of my creative endeavors include: drawing, painting, atc making, rubber stamping, origami, beading, sewing, metal working, playing w/ polymer clay, sewing, quilting, making machine embroidery, digitizing, oh yeah, and raising my 2 awesome kids! I also enjoy creating collage art, altered art, mixed media, jewelry and recycled art, as well as paper and fiber arts....phew! I think that covers most of it! :)

Recently I have been playing w/ copic markers as well as prismacolor pencils! So much fun to use!

Some Authors and books I enjoy: John Irving (Garp, Hotel New Hampshire), Richard P Feynman (Surely your joking Mr. Feynman, What do you care what other people think?), David Sedaris (Me Talk Pretty One Day, Dress your family in corduroy and denim, Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk), The Percy Jackson series, H.P. Lovecraft.....that's what I can think of for now. I also really like crafty "how to" books. A really neat one I got recently is called "Steampunkery" how to make fimo steam-punk critters and baubles. Then I have a love of books for a much more devious purpose....altering! Interesting old out of copyright books, and paperback novels (for their awesome covers, the kitschy-er the better).
