Fortyish eastern NC native now living in metro Atlanta. Yes, I have an accent; no, I'm not a redneck -- but don't get me started on the topic of barbecue unless you have a while. (It's not beef and it's not red..)

By day, I'm an employee benefits specialist; I currently work as an account manager for a small group benefits brokerage. Yes, I do have knowledge of (and an opinion about) the Affordable Care Act and health care reform in general; no, I'm not interested in discussing it here.

At night, I'm a semi-crazy cat lady who likes:

• Creative Writing (primarily chick-lit, "soft" sci-fi and fan fiction)
• Photography (especially buildings and landscapes)
• Walking and hiking
• Traveling
• Cross-stitching
• Reading

I just (re-) joined the homeownership club in June 2016 when I bought a little condo in the northeast metro area. So I'm spending a lot of time setting it up the way I like it; I'm determined to do things right this time.

The move also means I've gone back to having a kitchen I can actually cook in, after several years of basic apartment kitchens. So I've been spending a lot of time re-familiarizing myself with that, and re-creating my recipe collection.

I'm on Swap-Bot primarily because I love postcards. But in my case, it's not the postcard itself; it's the story. I've always been a writer in my heart, and I love collecting stories.

I love naked (stamped/written) postcard swaps within the United States as well as International. All postcards are welcome except ads and adult-themed ones, but the ones that will make me the happiest will be store-bought and feature something local to you along with a story about it.
