Description:

For this swap, you will be sending your partner an envelope full of hot air balloon and/or airship themed goodies! This is the steampunk group here, so obviously more vintage/realistic style and less little kid balloons cartoony, but there is some middle ground that would be appropriate hereYou must include at least 5 items. What these are is up to you, but here are some ideas and a general idea of what sort of quantity would constitute an item:

  • 5 stamped images
  • 5 used postage stamps
  • a sheet of home made faux postage stamps or at least 5 loose ones
  • 5 images from collage sheets
  • One genuine vintage image or book page, or 3 well printed reproduction pages
  • 3 homemade envelopes
  • One well-made ATC
  • 2 store-bought lettersets (or notecards).
  • a piece of jewelry or accessory
  • altered matchbox

You get the idea. When in doubt, err on the side of generosity. Nothing wrong with sending too much! New, used, destash, homemade, altered, anything goes as long as it fits the theme. Flat envie would be fine, but packages are welcome too! This will be international since it could be done with cheap postage, but if anyone wants to host a regional version (maybe more package than flat would be feasible there) then let me know. Have fun!

Still trying to find enough things to join! Cool idea.

I don't have enough either.

I totally love this idea and hot air balloons but I'm short on items as well :(

I have the same issue here. =/

Not enough items here either :(

Keep in mind items can be home-made. If you have a rubber stamp that would fit, or can carve one, you can make enough for the swap. Computer printed images are also acceptable so if you have a decent printer you can probably get everything for the swap like that.

drawing is acceptable too!

More ideas--

  • stickers (one sheet or 10 loose ones)
  • one piece of patterned paper at least 6x6in
  • wrapping paper
  • 3 inchies
  • die cuts (not sure if there are dies out there or not)
  • a homemade zine
  • 3 images from packaging (trader joes' ephemera often uses vintage airship images)

Hey guys..... We can be inventive and create your own items to please the recipient, google images colour up be daring and push your sAfety barriers..... Come on, its fun. You don't always have to buy everything. I for one feel the most honoured when someone has made a personal effort rather than let the shops provide it all. Give it a go.....you might surprise yourself
