I live in New Mexico, on 5 acres of rocks we call Nine Stones, with my partner and one big lug of a lover boy cat. Favorite crafts are altered books, collage/mixed media, art/junk and just about any kind of journal, most fiber arts and anything to do with paper.
If you do not receive your swap from me in a timely manner, please email me. I never flake and I always rate.
ROLIES: I'd prefer altered Rolodex cards sent to me to not have holes. I have an antique library card catalog box that I want to fill with rolies. It works with one hole in the middle, so if you send me a rolie, I can punch the hole in the right place for the box. Thanks!
Favorite song: John Lennon's "Imagine". It pretty much sums up my philosophy of life. Otherwise, I like everything from reggae to mariachi to new age to classical to golden oldies - except rap/hip-hop and free-form jazz. Guess I'm just too old.
Being an avid history buff, I read or listen to a lot of history and historical fiction. England is my spiritual home, so English history is right up there. I read Sci Fi of the alternate reality variety and feminist fantasy fiction, mysteries, especially those set in the past. I listen to books on CD while I do other things so I get to listen to books I would never have time to read.
Anything to do with paper. I'm addicted to knitting and it's a constant in my life, but I also do other fiber-related crafts. I make a little jewelry, alter books, make books, etc., etc. These days I'm making lots of journals of all kinds. Trying out some fabric books, too.
LIKES: My favorite holiday is Halloween. I love positive portrayals of witches. Anything Celtic, British, thatched cottages, standing stones, sacred sites and snakes. Spiritual/pagan/magic/faerie, he moon. Vintage, Victorian, shabby chic. Love things with Wabi Sabi. Favorite colors are Orange (anything from the palest peach to dark rust), teal/turquoise/ice aqua and purples tending toward blue. I love exotic yarns - even a snippet. I collect small witch figurines, but not ugly, warty, green witches or cutesie bears - I like positive and oddly whimsical representations. My taste runs more to the natural, rustic, aged, vintage, primitive than to shiny, new, blingy.
DISLIKES: I don't do cute or anything patriotic or religious. I celebrate the Winter Solstice rather than Christmas and love holly. I don't do much pink or red, tho dusty rose is looking good these days.
I'm a vegan (with ocassional lapses into vegetarianism) and eat organic as much as possible, don't eat much processed food or much sugar, so I wouldn't want drinks or candy. Organic teas are wonderful, tho.
My Wish List includes: Pre-Raphaelite images, Anything Halloween that's not 'cutesie', Images of the moon and lunar ephemera. Vintage laces and ribbons, Small lengths of interesting yarn, A thatched cottage in southern Cornwall (Used to list 'a new studio' but I now have one tucked into the trees near the house. I am so very grateful every time I see it and joyful every time I walk inside.)
