My name is Chelsea, I am 25 years old, and I live in Oregon. I've just come back to the US from two years of living in Germany, where I saw a great many things and learned even more. I speak German at an upper-intermediate B2 level.
My dream is to someday see the entire world! I would love to hear about everyone's favorite places, either if it's somewhere near where you live or somewhere far away that you traveled. I am trying to make a list of wonderful and not-so-well-known places to go in my lifetime.
I love classical music of all types! From ages 9-19 I was in several classical choirs so of course that was a very big part of my life. I also danced ballet for a few years, which is something I still enjoy and appreciate.
I also like bands like Bastille, Of Monsters and Men, Mumford and Sons, The Avett Brothers, The Black Keys, Van Halen, and lots more.
I have so many favorite books! -Harry Potter -Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld -anything by Maureen Johnson -anything by John Green -Bloomability by Sharon Creech (possibly my favorite book of all time!) -The Hunger Games -Divergent -A Series of Unfortunate Events -Lord Of The Rings/The Hobbit -Tuck Everlasting -Bridge To Terabithia -Grimm's Fairy Tales -Fairy Tales by Hans Christian Anderson and many, many more!
I love all things that are vintage and antique! I also like things that are unique to wherever they come from, like, things I would never be able to find in America. My love for vintage things came from watching Antiques Roadshow when I was home sick from school with my grandmother. I always thought it was so interesting to find out the stories behind old things!
On that same note, I love history. The older, the better. I'm also an absolute sucker for castles, fairytale or otherwise.
I love anything stationery related- like stickers, cute papers, envelopes, pens, all of that stuff! I love pottery, I have many homemade bowls and vases in my house, made by both my sister and I.
I am also a big lover of things that are glittery, but in a more sophisticated way, if that makes sense. I like being girly, but in an elegant sort of way.
If you are going to send me a postcard, I'd much prefer if it were naked (without an envelope and written on). One of my favorite things about postcards is seeing the stamps and postmarks right there next to the message :)
I love tea of all kinds! I will try anything. My favorites are mint flavored teas, rooibos teas, and fruit flavored teas.
I love hot chocolate too, especially mint flavored ones!
I love chocolate, so if you're sending me a chocolate bar, chances are l'll enjoy it's, even if it's not my favorite. I especially like ones with nuts or fillings in them. I prefer milk chocolate over dark chocolate, but that doesn't mean I hate dark chocolate. I am not a very big fan of white chocolate, however.
I love animals! My favorites are platypuses (platypi?) dogs, and snakes. I know most people don't like snakes, but my 10th grade biology teacher had the sweetest, friendliest hog-nosed snake named Wilbur, and she just loved to hang out on my arm as we took notes. Someday maybe I will have my own snake, but alas, no one I live with will tolerate one.
I love the sea, or really, any body of water. I love boats and swimming and beaches and most things to do with water.
I also love, love, LOVE Harry Potter! I like all four houses but I personally am a Gryffindor. My favorite characters are all of them, but especially Sirius Black, Hermione Granger, and Fred and George Weasley.
This list won't be very long, as there's not much I dislike. But I really and truly cannot stand anything with spiders on it (even if they're "cute" little cartoon spiders, I still can't do it), I also don't like skulls (unless it's something related to dÃÂa de los muertos) or anything like that. I do not like things that are violent/abusive/racist/etc. I feel like I shouldn't have to say that, but I want to put it on here just in case.
I also DO NOT LIKE instant coffee. I'm very picky about my coffee, so I'd rather you not send it to me, because I simply won't drink it, and neither will anyone else in my house. If you have me as a partner for a drink swap, I'd much rather prefer teas.
I send out swaps every weekday when I am at work but I can't send things out on weekends, as the post office in my town is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. I almost always send things before the swap deadline, but if the swap deadline is a weekend, and I'm a bit behind, it may not be postmarked until the following Monday. Please message me if you never received something I was supposed to send to you. Generally I will be happy to send a replacement.
Please message me if you are interested in doing a private swap with me. I would love to!! And I am always looking for pen pals around the same age as me (20-30) who likes similar things as me and likes to write and receive long letters!

Welcome to Swap-bot! My sister moved to (Bavaria) Germany from the USA in 2012 and enjoys it very much (I can see why from the couple of times I've been to visit so far!). Hopefully you'll feel the same when you move; how exciting for you!
