Hi! My name's Nat, I'm nineteen and from the UK. Currently taking a break from education in the hopes of going to university in 2017; I'm hoping to pursue costume design!
I live with my family, my fiancee, and my two beautiful fur cat babies who are basically my entire life; their names are Courfeycat and Gizmo.
Up until 2015 I was hoping to pursue a career in musical theatre, but mental health has meant that it was not to be; I still love theatre more than anything and it means a lot to me.
I run an etsy shop with my fiancee wherein we sell cute jewelry designed for lolita fashion, fairy kei fashion, and fans of Japanese culture; we travel around the UK selling at conventions. I've made a lot of friends from it and I love doing it! I wear lolita fashion (if you're not sure what that is, it's a Japanese street fashion based on children's fashions from the Edwardian period!) and I try and craft as much as possible.
Some generic other things I like: vampires, creepy things, Harry Potter, Victoriana, conspiracy theories, Monster High dolls, fairy tales, Disney, magical girl anime, kawaii culture and lifestyle and books.
Most of what I listen to are showtunes; at the moment I'm very very into Hamilton but I also love all Sondheim shows, Les Miserables, Lestat the Musical and way too many others to just reel off.
Outside of Musical Theatre, a brief overview of bands and artists I like includes: Emilie Autumn, Amanda Palmer, Marina and the Diamonds, Hole, Melanie Martinez, The Dresden Dolls, Aiden and Taylor Swift.
My favourite album of all time is Jon Bon Jovi's Blaze of Glory, and my favourite song is Natalie Merchant's Ophelia.
I read probably more than anything else; I have a special place in my heart for the Harry Potter series, as does basically everyone. I also love The Vampire Chronicles, Les Miserables, Discworld, the Chrestomanci books (and anything by Diana Wynne Jones), Let The Right One In, The Bell Jar, Good Omens, Brideshead Revisited, and the works of Oscar Wilde.
My favourite genres are horror, science fiction and fantasy and I have a terrible teenage paranormal romance habit that I just can't break. I also love anything about vampires and anything gothic horror.
I like musicals, horror movies, science fiction movies and fantasy movies, much like everything else. I also deeply appreciate anything with beautiful design and visual appeal. My favourite movie of all time is The Breakfast Club, but here's a list of other movies I love:
I love watching movies and talking about movies and always love getting movie recommendations!
I'm terrible at keeping up with new television, but I do have a trusty old list of past favourite television shows that I often rewatch. These include:
I'm doing my best at the moment to keep up with Penny Dreadful, Defiance and Galavant, but I'm not really doing that well. Television wise, I love cult shows, paranormal shows and anything with witty dialogue.
I also really love anime; I have a particular affinity for the Mahou Shoujo genre. I love Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, Tokyo Mew Mew and anything and everything in between!
I really like to draw, and I tend to doodle on absolutely everything. I also scrapbook quite a lot - at the moment I maintain a scrapbook of cute things I do with my fiancee and another scrapbook related to conventions and fashion - I'm very interested in learning how to paper cut!
I sew, but I'm not actually very good at it, although one of my goals this year is to get better!
I make a lot of jewelry for my shop and for myself, and I used to cosplay so I also like making props for that. I collect Monster High and Ever After High dolls, so I sometimes like to make little props for them!
I COLLECT: - used ticket stubs for musicals - stickers of any kind - business cards for cute shops - anything with cats on - anything marie from the aristocats - mahou shoujo related things - monster high and ever after high dolls - tsum tsums
I LOVE: - postcards - drawings from other people - victoriana - victorian anatomy drawings - glitter and sequins - mythical creatures - vampires - cute tape - books - fairy tale and folklore - anything a little bit creepy
I DON'T LOVE - insects - spiders - tea
