Response: The first time I ate a slice of banana cake was in my 20s. They aren't popular at all in France. I don't know why. I tried many recipes but never liked the texture much until I came accross this one.

I read "Me before you." and saw the movie which was so sad. I did like the MC though. A great character. Comment: Thank you so, so much for such a lovely envelope. You went above and beyond. <3 Orange Lindor is one of my favourite flavours of chocolate. The gingerbread man will find his way onto my tree that I have for ornaments from swaps, which hopefully will be going up over the weekend. I really appreciate the bead instructions and I'm excited to give it a go. All the beads are fantastic and I love that metallic coloured beads (what I always call spilt petrol!) And finally thank for the snap sequin bracelet. Actually I really like the sequin colour change because it helps when I'm anxious, so now I can have it with me when I'm out and about. Comment: Love the card! I collect postcards, and one from the royal wedding was great! A little out of sync with the poetry on the back, but that makes it quirky and cute!
Response: The thing is, in the 70s, mixed raced people were called Half C. That's s why I found it fitting as the message is so strong and the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh would have probably used this term. Things have changed, fortunately!

Comment: Charlotte, it arrived!! As always, I am blown away by your generosity! I love love love it all but by far my favourite things were the handmade crafts!! That bunny painting is incredible!! She has beautiful eyes! I love the hen/chicken potholder?? (I am assuming that is what it is, but I would never use it for that purpose!). And the giant purple egg oh my goodness!!! It is so beautiful and sparkly – basically, you blew me away! Glad the egg is to your liking, this giant purple bird laid it on my doorstep and I thought " purple!", was worried the glitter might be a bit too much! Response: Glad the parcel arrived quickly! You can freeze the turmeric and grate it when needed. We have nearly eaten all the chocolates you sent us and it was delicious! The crumble made me smile, because I was just re-watching an episode of "Downton Abbey" where Mrs. Hughes fakes a sore had so Carson will make dinner. She compliments him on the apple crumble. Response: Many scone recipes have eggs in them but the one I sent you hasn't , which makes them less like a cake...and more like a scone. They don't keep well, you need to eat them as soon as they come out of the oven (wait for 15 minutes so you don't burn your tongue!)...nice to make for friends when there isn't much else in the house! :) Don't forget to make the layers, they will be light! Hope you like them, Her Royal Highness certainly does! ;)

Response: That is interesting, I sent the same postcard to vlhafer54 (see comment below) and she found it OK. I guess it was really dull and ugly to me. I could not have sent it in any other swap! 😁 The castle is more like a large palace and has an art gallery inside. I guess this painting was on display at one point.

My favourite item is the rainbow pen. The Cadbury Marvellous Creations jelly popping candy is sold in Australia, but the other food items are foreign to me (Yes the chocolate did survive the trip!). The crochet kit is so nice - I have never done crochet before but I guess I don't have an excuse to try now! The stickers are so nice too! You put so much effort into the parcel - I love how you wrapped up each item individually, it was like opening presents at Christmas!! You went above and beyond what I was expecting in this swap. Response: If you like cheese, this is great dish to make for a large amount of people as you dip your bread into the fondue and share the experience and is quick to make! Also, it is also slightly crazy when you add the cheese!! You must make sure the dish is kept warm while you are eating it, the fondue should be so hot you need to blow on your piece of cheese bread before it goes in your mouth. Bon appetit!!

Comment: I loved the photos, and especially the birthday stamps! Such fun. As a former cake decorator, I really liked that pic, but I had to ask you about the Millennium bridge picture. It looks almost like there is a path that goes down to a tunnel under the Thames. What is that (I know you can go under at Greenwich, but we were at the Millennium bridge an I don't remember seeing that.

Response: So happy my recipes inspire you! I cook the stir fry very often, as you use mince, you don' need to chop the meat! While it' s cooking, I chop the veggies and add them! It' S helpful to have someone standing over the wok and stirring while I chop away!! I often buy this little magazine because I enjoy reading about the history behind the recipes! Not all the recipes are amazing but every now and then, they are and I have made quite a few dishes from this magazine...although I won' t try the recipe on page 17! I think it looks revolting!!😂although the cook is stunning so maybe I should try it!😂 All the best in the kitchen! Xxx

Comment: Well, it was quite a surprise. I am sure my mailman had a good chuckle. Thank you for the card. I can only imagine the stir it created when in 1866.
Response: To be honest, I wasn' t sure it would arrive and I even wondered if I was allowed to send it!? But then again, this painting is exhibited in a major museum in the centre of Paris and kids get to see it when out with their parents in the museum and there aren't any warning signs, it' S like "wow,in your face"! After leaving the museum, you remember paintings more than others and this one stayed with me!😉

Response: Glad you liked your package! Sorry it took a while to write back, my daughter spent 3 weeks in hospital in January and I am still recovering ( mentally!!) But she will make a full recovery!! And no! Sorry, I didn't make the bookmark! I got it in a craft fair in December. I love anything cross stitched, I used to cross stitch loads in my twenties but for some reason ( might be my eyesight!), I don't feel like doing it these days. However, I appreciate the time and patience it takes to make anything like this so I tend to look out for " little treasures"!!😀

Comment: I love the movie version of Priscilla, but I haven't been fortunate enough to see a live performance of the musical. I think that would be amazing. Oklahoma is so conservative though, I felt it was a coups just to get Hedwig and the Angry Inch & The Book of Mormon... in the same year no less.

It was such a nice thing to find in my mailbox, when I returned home! The Louvre is my favorite museum, but I did not have a picture of it at night, or a postcard ( and I collect postcards of the places I go) I also scrapbook, so the stickers are going to come in handy. I have not been to Sainte Chapelle, I will have to put it on my list. I did visit Sacré-Cœur when I was there though. My boyfriend and I have actually had frog legs here believe it or not (probably not as good as the ones you had judging from the photo though) he loves them. I think they are a bit salty. When I went, I tried bone marrow, which I also found very salty. I just wanted to try something different you know? Well any way, thank you so much!!! I wish I could give you more than one heart and I am always looking for pen pals if you are interested. Have a great day!

I MUST visit there! You live in a beautiful region with SO much rich history. I have been to England twice in the past 10 years and it's coming time to visit again. Response: Correct!! We were driving along a very empty road and suddenly, my brother in law parked the motorhome by the side of the road! I thought he needed the toilet!! Then I thought he was joking when he said we had broken down!! We had to hitchhike to the nearest campsite which was 1 hour away and the next day, the rental company drove a new campervan to the campsite for us from Alice Springs... Which was 5 hours drive away!... Obviously, this was the highlight of the holiday!!! Ah ah!!!

Comment: That chowder sounds delicious! I went to Ireland two years ago- my most remembered dish was the lemon meruingue pie at a restaurant in Sligo (I think that was the town's name.) Either way- delicious! I'll have to test your recipe out (:
