3/17/24 - Taking a break from swapping. Many events happening in the next few months. I'll be checking messages so if you are missing something from me, please message me and I'll make it right!
1/30/24 - I recently learned that someone has been driving through our neighborhood at night and taking mail out of the mailboxes. We try to pick up our mail soon after it's been delivered. I'm making an effort to get out to the mailbox each day so hopefully we won't have a problem.
10/14/23 - I've cut back on swapping for awhile. Taking care of my Dad who has recently stopped driving has been my priority for now, but things have calmed down bit and I'm ready to jump back into swapping more. Happy to be back!
6/7/21 - Took a break from swapping to clean up swaps but now I'm back. I've messaged everyone that I haven't received from or haven't been rated for and still have 6 swaps not completed. I missed my swapping pals and am happy to be back!
10/10/20 - I'm ready to come back to swap-bot and excited to visit with some old friends and meet some new ones!
8/5/20 - Taking a break from swapping. I've sent out all swaps that I'm registered for, will rate when I receive from my partner(s) and always thank partners that leave a rating. I always send swaps out the day that partners are assigned, or the next day.
About Me: I've been married for 46 years and have 2 married daughters, 1 granddaughter (15) and 3 grandsons (one 19 & 9 year old twins). I retired in 2018 and am enjoying spending more time with family and watching the grandkids grow!
I transplanted from Montana to the PNW (Pacific Northwest) 35+ years ago and have never regretted it. Can't beat being a couple of hours away from the mountains, the beach or the 'big city' although I do miss the slower living of Montana.
I'm a Seattle Sounders MLS fan and enjoy going to their matches especially now that we can go back into the stadium. Go Sounders!
I love making cards, and other paper crafts, cross stitching and sewing. I enjoy learning from other crafters and seeing their creations.
Over the past years I've been 'collecting' paper crafting supplies and fabric to use when I retired. I'm not at hoarder status yet, but could be close! It's been fun trying to use some supplies that I've had stashed away but never tried before. I would like new ideas to spark my creativity and to see what's new in the crafting world.
In the past I was a SU! demonstrator which built up my stamping collection. I also was a part of Operation Write Home until they dissolved. I enjoyed making cards for the troops and was thankful that one of my Swap-bot friends told me about Cards for Soldiers. I'm so happy to have a purposeful service group to donate to!
I've also been doing online craft classes with One of A Kind on Facebook where you purchase kits from vendors ahead of time and craft along with the instructor on the day of the classes. And I attend Close to My Heart classes once a month. Kristina Baldwin is an awesome instructor!
I like to collect recipes and occasionally try them out. I've made several family cookbooks for family reunions.
I watch lots of movies and tv but I'm usually working on cards or another project while I'm watching (or I'll fall asleep!) I'm always looking for a new series to watch. Any suggestions? A few of my favorites are: ~ Outlander, ~ Grey's Anatomy, ~ The Man in the High Castle, ~ Marvelous Mrs. Maizel, ~ Better Call Saul, ~ This is Us, ~ The Masked Singer, ~ Survior, ~ Downton Abbey, ~ Call the Midwife, ~ Modern Family, ~ Handmaid's Tale, ~ and the list goes on, and on, and on!
I enjoy learning about different cultures and countries, and connecting with others. I wish to someday do more traveling.
My favorite colors are purples, blues and greens, but would enjoy any color.
Other favorites are dragonflies, hearts and angels.
I don't join food swaps so my allergies don't really matter.
I have a lot of crafting supplies so don't really need anything more. My crafting likes but I'm open to anything new in the crafting world:
~ Washi ~ Quotes, sayings, angel words ~ Rub ons ~ Stamps ~ Rhinestones, gems for paper crafting
PLEASE - NO GLITTER. Cards for Soldiers requires no glitter. Reason being, they send the handmade cards to overseas troops that may be in the field and one little speck of glitter may make them visible to snipers. I check all cards before I send them, but glitter is really hard to keep off of things.
I prefer naked, purchased PCs. I love that stamped piece of mail, a real stamp (not metered) makes the piece of mail even more interesting. Although I like to collect state PCs, I also like to get a PC that you like so I can learn more about you, but no nudity, crude or rude please.
If you do not receive something from me, please contact me and I will resend. I understand that all post offices are different, have different hours, some even different days that they work, especially the smaller rural towns. And they misplace things. If you receive something from me with postage due, please let me know and I will more than make it up to you. I can't always get to the post office so use a scale and USPS.com to figure out postage rates and may sometimes not get it right.
I've always believed that health and family are the most important pieces of our lives. So if you are going to be late, please send me a message so I know when to be looking for your item.
I would appreciate if you would give me a chance to make it right and I will do the same for you.
Happy swapping!
