Comment: Thank you for the Alaska postcard! I've never been there (or to any US state), but my best online friend lived there for a while, so I've heard a lot about it, including a moose invading a yarn store. An Alaskan cruise would be great, but a Scandinavian one is more likely for me.

Comment: I love how crystals take care of us. I sent my partner a piece of rose quartz that seemed to want to go, in spite of my reluctance to send it. I love rose quartz and find it hard to let it travel on. Then I got your package, and it held another piece of rose quartz. It makes me SO happy. I also loved getting the piece of geode. Comment: Courtney, thank you for two very nice school days ATCs! They match my love of vintage items and my perspective of what education should be! I now SO WISH I had home schooled both of my children, but back then it was very unacceptable legally, and the numbers of home schooling families so small that I wasn't sure how to make it against the "establishment" opinions about educating our children. Mine walked into school with excited minds ready to explore and find out and discover, and instead were met with boredom and tedious, unproductive "projects," even into my daughter's senior year in high school. As a retired community college English professor, I am terrified by the level of education our public schools are providing to high school graduates who may have almost now reading skills, no sense of the English language, almost no knowledge of their nation's history and literature, few math skills, and on and on and on! I realize community colleges get the lesser levels of high school graduates, but many I've worked with should never have qualified of high school graduation! But standardized test scores prove they qualify! Kudos to you and your family for home schooling! PeggyO

(I'm kind of hoping he relaxes a little as he gets older. :) I love the Charlotte Mason approach, but I'm kind of torn too...I feel like there's not much nature here in the desert, in town. LOL

I get the occasional wild hair trying to make things super structured and it never works out.. I truly believe the best retained learning for my kiddos is by doing.. Thanks for beign in the swap!!

This is the first set I have ever received using polymer clay, and I love them, they are really nice. Purple is one of the colors I tend to stay away from especially dark purple, but I absolutely love these. They are perfect. Hugs to you, and anytime you wish to do a private swap, please message me, I would love to do another with you.

I would be happy to receive a penpal letter from you if you want to send one - and not just using it as an example :-) Glad you liked it.. I just collage some stuff on the books and then use my laminating machine to laminate them. the only thing I don't like is that they wont stay closed.. but they def are sturdy :-)

Comment: The two zentangles you sent me are the most amazing zentangles I have seen yet! They are so cool and there is so much depth to them - do you use a gray marker for shading (instead of a pencil?). I turned them around and asked my husband if he could see them from where he was - he said "kind of". I then asked him if he could see how freaking amazing they were! Thanks so much - I am in awe! Now I am off to practice my zentangles!

Comment: awesome! i have mine embroidered but just don't know how to turn it to a card, what is that backing you used to write on??
Response: I just backed my embroidered part with stabilizer and sewed it to some stiff muslin.. and whalaa!! Glad you liked :-) I ended up putting it in an envelope because the stamp wouldn't stay stuck to the fabric.. alternatively you could sew it to some heavy cardstock if you wanted to put the stamp directly on it.

Response: It actually was cut square prior to stitching which always shrinks it a bit - unfortunately not always uniformly.
