Response: The German NABU has put aerials on storks, and I like to watch them gadding about in Chad during the winter: https://blogs.nabu.de/stoerche-auf-reisen/
Thank you for your rating and the heart.
Last week, I was in Arctic Norway and I watched the puffins of Gjesvaerstappan (71° North). They are so adorable!
Response: Indeed, I know you are, and thank you! Thank you for your rating and the heart.
Response: You're most welcome, Maria!
Response: You're most welcome. I have made the green ATC without a fish, in case I draw your address again. I'm sure you want some variety in your collection! I didn't realise until now how often I draw fish.
Response: I'm glad you like it, Deidre. I hope you can find a use for it or pass it along to somone else who can. Thank you for the heart.
Response: Dear Gina,
Thank you for organising the swap. I'm glad you like the hungry caterpillar. I usually have her riding a rocket or wearing a top hat.
Yours, SuMay

Response: I'm glad you like it and I hope you and your children have fun with the Egypt project. Thank you for the heart! I was a little impatient when my package didn't arrive, so I have resent. Please enjoy!
Response: Dear Mark,
Thank you again for your enthusiasm and kind words. I would like to host it more often, but my museums are running out of strange objects!
Response: Thank you for your rating. Germany is a difficult nation to celebrate!
Response: Thank you for the heart, LizzyJo. I'm glad you enjoyed the swap.
Response: Thanks for your rating and the heart. I dreamed I was building a greenhouse last night, and that two tadpoles I was babysitting dried out because I left them on the carpet with their toys for too long. I'm not sure how I would have encoded that on the postcard!
Thank you for the swap, I realy enjoyed it. Fancy hosting another at some point?
Response: You're welcome Irina. Thank you for your rating.
Response: You're welcome.
Response: Thank you for the heart. I hope the orange ephemera gets your creative juices flowing. Thank you for hosting!

The ancient order of woodlice is honoured by your response, and wishes you a safe journey to the ball.
Lightfoot Swallowtail
Response: I'm very glad you like it so much! Thank you for the heart.
Response: Thank you for your positive feedback and for the heart. It's always useful to hear which aspects were particularly pleasing (or not): it's my motor to change and improve. Sorry about the tiny writing. I love to cram in as much text as possible, because for me, mail art is primarily mail, and that means lots of writing! I'll try to remember next time and either type or write in block capitals. See you next swap!
Response: Thanks for your effusive praise: I'm very glad you liked the things I sent. Aix is lovely, but I prefer nearby Marseille, which is more lively and heterogeneous. My trip to Tuscany was fabulous. Art, food, nature, architecrure, wine, gelato and lively people. Ciao!
Response: I'm glad you liked it, Wicked Glitter. Thanks for the heart!
Response: You're welcome. Thank you for the heart.
Response: Was it the steamer line? If so, that was quick!
Response: I'm glad you liked it. Thank you for the heart.
Response: Phew, that's a relief. Thank you for the heart.
Response: Thanks for your rating, Mariá. I can't wait!
Response: Thanks for your rating. Yes, I think most of us are parallel readers. The Penrose is quite a slog, but it's full of all sorts of great insights.
Response: You are very kind, thank you for your effusive praise! I'm very glad you enjoyed the stamps I chose for you. 7 doesn't occur often, does it?
Response: Merci à toi, aussi!
Response: You're most welcome. Those great-tailed grackles of yours are just gorgeous! I can imagine that they strut around with great self-confidence and grackle amongst themselves. Thank you for the heart.
Response: Thank you for the rating.
Response: Thanks. Has the ugly bug ball invitation reached you, yet?
Response: I'm very glad. Thank you for your rating!
Response: Thank you for your rating. I'm not keen on little yappy dogs like chihuahuas, but that postcard is really cute! Why couldn't you read it? Was my handwriting too scrappy, or did I use the wrong language? Sorry about that!
Response: Thank you very much for giving me the chance to resend. I really enjoyed making the cactus card and envelope for you, and I hope we'll swap again. Thank you for the heart.
Response: Thank you for your kind words. The bubble wrap side is the "front" in my opinion, but I like the idea of having a diurnal and a nocturnal side. I wish you and your son many happy dissections!
Response: Thank you for the heart! I'm glad you liked the mehndi.
Response: Thank you for joining the swap, I'm glad you enjoyed what I sent.
Response: Thank you so much for your kind rating. It was a great swap idea, wasn't it?
Response: Dear Mariá,
Always a pleasure to send to you! I'm honoured that you are actually having the greenface framed, thank you!
Sonia
Response: I like to stamp the carrot with a caterpillar riding it like it's a rocket!
Response: You're welcome. Thank you for the heart.
Response: Thank you! That got across the cosmos quickly!
Response: I'm glad you like it. Thank you for the heart.
Response: Thank you for the heart rating. The light that enters those windows is like liquid colour. I was scooping it off the floor and "drinking" it!
Response: You're welcome. Thank you for the heart.
Response: I'm glad you liked it. Thank you for the rating.
Response: Happy new year! Thank you for your praise of my stamps. The hardest was carving a Mandarin character in reverse!
Response: You're most welcome! God save the Gueen!
Response: Thanks for the heart!
Response: I'm glad you enjoyed what I sent you. Thank you for your kind words, and have fun with the artistamps!
Response: You're welcome.
Response: I love the envelope swaps!
Response: You're welcome. The postcard you gave to me to use at my discretion is now red. Thank you for this informal collaborative postcard!
Response: Hoi!
That's a relief! You're welcome.
Response: Thanks for rating.
Response: Long live Tacheles!
Amities,
Sonia
Response: Sehr gern! Ich hoffe, die hattest du noch nicht.
Response: The "day of the postage stamp" is lovely, isn't it? Simple and clear. I enjoy sending out German stamps with hearts on them. We're not the first country one associates with love and kindness, so using this stamp puts a smile on my face!
Response: You're welcome. Thank you for the heart.
Response: Au ja, gern! Danke für deine Teilnahme.
Response: Gern geschehen. Ich liebe Backsteingothik!
Response: Thank you so much for your warm words. I will certainly pass on your praise to my husband, it will make him very proud! I have just drawn your address again for a swap, I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of it. So please don't look at my Flickr page until it arrives. Hasta la proxima (?), Sonia
Response: My goodness, that got half way around the world fast! I knew you'd like the post-its. I don't usually buy things for swaps, but in this case, I couldn't resist. Thank you for the heart.
Response: I do indeed! Ich freue mich auf deinen Körperkunst.
Response: Thank you for rating. In our block it's the other way around: I automatically get any post that looks interesting, and I have to run around putting it in other people's boxes.
Response: Thank you for repairing the postcard. The card playing royals is one of my favourite stamps. I particularly like the queen's smug grin! I've now visited the "surrealist encounters" four times. I was delighted to see that the curator has made an effort to include art by women.
Response: I did indeed. Glad you liked it! Thanks for the heart.
Response: You're welcome. Thank you for the heart!
Response: It arrived at last! That's quite an unothodox saintly education you have!
Response: So far so good!
Response: Thank you for your kind wishes and the heart.
Response: Thanks for your rating. The answer is: one at a time! Thank you for hosting.
Response: Thank you for your kind words and the heart. I was going through old photos just before Christmas, and I found a picture of Gnatasha's (empty) crysalis. Have you seen the BBC series "Life in the Undergrowth"? It's by David Attenborough and was released in 2005. Our library has it on Blu-Ray. It is just fascinating. My favourite bit is when Sir David has a velvet worm on his arm (not actually a worm). He gazes at it all misty-eyed and calls it "an enchanting little creature". And he's right!
Response: Thank you for your rating and for participating. I'm glad I could send some sunshine your way!
Response: Thank you for your rating and the mail exchange. See you next swap!
Response: And you mine with your e-mail reply. It's a great offer. Let me think about it.
Response: Thank you for the heart and the chance to re-send. Happy new year, Sherry!
Response: You're welcome. Hyggelig med Jul, or whatever it is in Danish!
Response: Thank you for your kind comments and the heart rating. Funnily enough, the card I used is from a binder divider: just cheap recycled card. But I like its velvety texture, too. Happy new year!
Response: Thank you for your interest! I'm afraid I sometimes don't know when to stop when I start going on about my birds. I just love them so much. What volunteering are you up to? Thank you for the heart.
Response: I'm so glad you like it, Enno. What did you think of the article? Keep an eye on your post box on Tuesday or Wednesday this coming week! Thank you for your rating and the heart.
Response: Thank you for the heart! I think it must be the largest envelope ever used for a 10 stamp swap! I hope I will visit Lithuania again soon, too. Maybe I'll combine it with a bird-watching trip ito Poland and Latvia.
Response: You're welcome.
Response: Dear Mimishka and Niniko, thank you for your rating. Our research with dogs is shaping up: when we ring bell, dogs drop saliva into the measuring device. I will call this the Pavlovian behaviour. Hendrikssen can bite me, as you Americans say. Ivan.
Response: Thank you for the heart. It was a great opportunity, and much appreciated.
Response: Thank you for your words of praise!
Response: You're welcome.
Response: Thanks, Enno. See you next swap!

Response: It's always a pleasure to draw your address. Thank you for the heart rating. A bientôt!
Response: You are very kind, thank you! See you in another swap soon, I hope.
Response: Thank you for your long message and the heart. Do you know, I can't remember what I sent? Never mind, I know I had fun putting it together. I really enjoy the profile-based swaps. It's a nice way to get to know eachother better. Yesterday evening I went to one of our Christmas markets. It was perfect weather: dry and cold, dark early, so all the lights transformed my city into something magical. Here in Germany, Sunday evening is the best time to go if you don't like crowds: enough people for it to be busy and have a good atmosphere, but short waits for the mulled wine (Glühwein) and enough room to stand away from the smokers (if smoke makes you sneeze, as it does me). I love the German Christmas markets! It's just as Christmas should be, in my opinion! Have fun in Holland!
Response: Frohe WeihNACKTen!
Response: I'm glad you like it. Thank you for your rating.
Response: Salut!
Response: You're welcome, Joy. More decorated post is on its way to you. Thank you for the heart rating!
Response: Merci pour la coeur.
Response: Na dann! Prost!
Response: I'm glad you liked it. Thank you for the rating.
Response: I'm pleased you liked it, June. Thank you for the heart. See you in the next swap.
Response: Gern geschehen! Danke für den Swap.
Response: Wenn du willst, gern! Danke für das Herz.
Response: You're welcome. Thank you for the heart.
Response: It's always a pleasure to draw your address, Saffron.
Response: I'm sure the card you sent was lovely, too. There must be a reason you were hanging on to it for so long! I'm glad the postcard I sent has found a new home. Thank you for the heart.
Response: Avec plasir!
Response: Thanks, Enno, and thank you for hosting the swap. Every tiny step we make towards body acceptance will make us happier, and it was interesting to realise, once I started, how many things I actually like about my body!
Response: Thank you for the heart rating. I hope the photo will inspire you in your writing.
Response: Gern geschehen!
Response: I had to send the Eiffel tower as long as I was living in France. It is truly more beautiful in real life than in any photograph I have seen. It's like lace.
Response: You're welcome! Did you know that the word sabotage comes from the French word "sabot", clog?
Response: Thanks for the heart. I'm back home now, where it's snowing hard, and I'm training for a French exam. I personally feel that the French could get rid of the subjunctive entirely and be no the worse for it! But until they do, I suppose I'll have to master it.
Response: I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm back in Germany now, and the view through my window is... snow! Thank you for the very positive rating.
Response: Thanks for your rating!
Response: You're welcome. Thanks for rating.
Response: Dear Felina,
It is my creation, but I had it printed professionally. Thank you for your warm words and for the heart.
Sonia
Response: Glad you liked it. The background is a sticker the Deutsche Post puts on your post to return it to you if it's insufficiently franked. I have one or two of them lying around! The fan shaped thing is a list of the colours in which you are allowed to paint your house on the island of Helgoland. And of course, I used the stickers I tore off my mustard jars!
Response: Good to know it hit the spot! I'm having a whale of a time trawling the French flea markets. I bought an entire set of dental-grade plastic teeth last weekend!
Response: Thank you, Isabellasnow.
Response: You're most welcome.
Response: Glad you liked it!
Response: Thank you for rating.
Response: I'm glad you enjoyed the swap. I got a lovely little package of clippings from my other partner. It would be a pleasure to host a similar swap in the future. Thank you for rating, and of course for participating!
Response: Thank you for your rating and the invention of that new word. I love new words! On Friday, I invented one. I explained to my French teacher that I was feeling rather "vendredaise", fridayish. And she understood!
Response: So glad you like it. Yes, those apples were delicious, and because they were organic, you could just eat them straight off the tree, earwigs and all! The farmer didn't care how many we ate, but I confess that he laughed rather heartily when we got bellyache.
Response: Thank you very much for your kind words and praise. I'm glad you enjoyed what I sent.
Response: Glad you liked it.
Response: Good for you! The comfort zone is only there for returning to after excursions in the unknown! The photo album is a real treasure. I'm sure the people whose photos were available at a car boot sale would rather be turned into ATCs than be forgotten entirely.
Response: Gern geschehen! Dank für das Herz. Dir auch einen schönen Abend.
Response: Well, maybe he can keep the next one! Thank you for the heart rating.
Response: Thanks for your rating.
Response: You're welcome. Thanks for the heart.
Response: I'm glad you like it. Barn owls are so mysterious, aren't they? You are absolutely right to be envious of my time in France. I'm having a lovely time!
Response: You are very kind with your thanks. Thank you for organising the swap. I hope you will consider doing so again!
Response: I'd have explained on the card, but the swap brief explicitly forbade it, which made it more fun, in my opinion. The plaster bust of Nofretete that I drew is in the Neues Museum of Berlin, which is on the front of the card. No German (or nearly-German, like me) can think of the Neues Museum without thinking of Nofretete. If you are ever in Berlin, you must see her. She is the most beautiful thing you can imagine.
Response: Thank you for your heart rating.
Response: Yes, they're stamps. I liked the contrast of the flowery stamps and my crooked home-made skull stamp with three teeth. I'm glad you liked the ATC and you share my glee at finding a spirograph!
Response: That's so lovely to hear (not the part about the rough morning, though). You are very kind.
Response: Thanks for the heart. Yep, small world!
Response: Thank you, Mejulia.
Response: Dann hoffentlich bis bald in Hamburg!
Response: Thank you for the heart. I'm glad you enjoyed the little dancing dog!
Response: Thanks for your rating.
Response: You're most welcome. Did you see that the stamp and the drawing both showed asters? I was delighted to find an aster stamp for your envelope!
Response: I'm so pleased you like it. I really enjoy decorating envelopes. Thank you for your complimens and your rating.
Response: Dear Mona, I'm very glad you like it. That envelope really set me off decorating envelopes: I'm going through a phase of it at the moment. I'm sure our paths will cross again: Swapbot is a small world! Thank you for the rating. Yours, Sonia
Response: Thanks, but remember: don't tell father!
Response: Thanks for rating. For a human rice-cooker, she is quite cute, isn't she?
Response: You are very welcome! It was a pleasure to put the bits and bobs together for you. See you next swap!
Response: Thanks for your rating. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Response: Thanks for the rating. Glad you liked it!
Response: Ha ha, patty and chips all round!
Response: Thanks for the heart, despite the cat-astrophic puns!
Response: I'm so pleased you liked it! Thank you for your warm words and for the heart. I look forward to our next swap!

Response: Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for the heart.
Response: Thank you for the rating. It was a lovely swap.
Response: Always a pleasure to swap with you, Nurul!
Response: Ceci est un remerciement!
Response: You're very welcome.
Response: Dear Paula,
I moved to Germany because I fell in love with the language. Now my citizenship test is just around the corner... how time flies! I'm glad you enjoyed the ATC and the bits that came with it. Thank you for your rating.
Response: You know your Ernst! Yes, it was. Thank you for the swap!
Groeten, Sonia
Response: Thanks for your rating! I'm glad you like them. What a fun challenge it was.
Response: Dear Barbara, My pleasure! I'm glad you liked the envelope and goodies. Thank you for the heart. My flight to Vienna is tomorrow and Wednesday is the interview. I'm really excited! Yours, Sonia
Response: Thanks for your rating and your kind words. It was a pleasure to read your profile and to try to find that special something! Have a lovely time in New Orleans. My holiday was great! I especially enjoyed visiting the UNESCO sites for Luther and the reformation and the Dessau-Wörlitz realm of gardens.
Response: Thank you for the heart. Did I send you an old Turkish banknote with Mehmet the Conquerer on it? If so, I'm curious to see what you will use it for!
Response: Ha ha, I'd hoped you'd like them!
Response: Thank you for your kind words and enthusiasm! I'm glad you liked the ATC. And can one ever have enough doggy stickers? I met some lovely dogs on holiday. One was a deaf hunting dog, a wire-haired terrier mix of 14 years. I love old dogs, I don't mind if they smell. She let me scratch her flank and leaned right in against me to get more. Perhaps the best was a strapping German shepherd bitch with the incongruous name of "Mäuschen" (little mouse). She ran at the river full tilt and did the most spectacular crashing bellyflop I have ever seen! It's a wonder there was any water left.
Response: Glad you liked them!
Response: Gern geschehen! I'm glad you liked it! I pulled no punches with my German: I let you have it as I would write to a German, subordinate clauses and all. It's nice to "meet" other English-speaking Germanophiles: we're a rare breed! Thanks for the heart.
Response: Thanks for your kind rating of the haloplankton.
Response: Glad you liked it. Thanks for hosting the swap!
Response: Glad you enjoyed it! And the story/history is half the fun in this case. Thanks for the heart.
Response: Thank you for you kind words and the heart.
Response: Thank you, Antoinette. With a name like yours, who can resist a few flourishes of the pen?! I'm glad you liked it.
Response: Thanks for your kind words and the heart, Lihior.
Response: I'm glad you enjoyed them.
Response: You're welcome, Nurul.
Response: I don't feel the lure of the forest. I like to look a long way. I've never visited a desert.
Response: Glad you liked them.
Response: You're welcome.
Response: It was fun, wasn't it? Thanks for the heart.
Response: Yes, I did draw it, while I was on duty at "my" bird sanctuary. Glad you liked it!
Response: That was lucky. Thanks for the heart!
Response: Glad you liked it. Thanks for the heart!
Response: Thanks for your kind words. I look forward to seeing your amazing mail art!
Response: I couldn't resist T for Tesla!
Response: You're welcome!
Response: Glad you liked it. Flat fish are aces.
Response: Thank you. I found the Russian stamp very evocative. I have long wanted to do something with it.
Response: Gerne!
Response: Thank you for your praise! I have a lot of fun making these challenges, but the cherry on top is hearing that the recipient likes them, too.
Response: Gern! Danke, dass du den Tausch organisiert hast!
Response: You're welcome.
Response: Glad I could keep you guessing! My ATC for S has 17 to find, he he he!
Response: You're welcome. I hope you enjoyed receiving it as much as I enjoyed making it!
Response: Thank you for your praise!
Response: My favourite is chim-cheree. I used to own the single on record!
Response: Thank you for your kind words. I enjoyed making it, too. I think it's important to keep our folk art alive, and Swapbot is a good place to do it. AMA sender's choice is coming your way, too. Different theme, though...I'm interested to hear what you think of it.
Response: Glad you like it. I was really cross with myself that I had to send it twice.
Response: Thanks, Becca! I like it, too, which is why I used it as my avatar.
Response: Glad you liked it, Elisabeth.
