Response: That was SUCH a fun journal to create for you!! I loved making the little sketches for each day. I think my favorite was the little baby bunny in my garden.
Response: Thank you! I am so glad that the colors are right! It's always a challenge to guess how someone else sees and describes a color, especially over the internet! I really enjoyed making the square for you and am glad that it reached you safely and quickly!
Response: Glad you like them! I really enjoyed putting them together for you!
Response: Thank you so much! I created that swap card with digital collage techniques, and then had it printed at Zazzle. Response: You are welcome! I always try to read profiles. :) I don't use S&L myself, so getting ahold of a package was a little tricky, but not too much to manage! I am glad you like the ATC! It seemed a good theme for February. :)

Response: Yay!! Thank you for letting me know it arrived safely! :)
Response: Thank you for the wonderful comments!! I really enjoyed making those blocks for you, and I'm really appreciative that you granted me the extra time to "do it right" -- to capture what I saw in my own mind's eye! ;) I guess that my Art School experience taught me how to articulate well, and how to see the underlying charm in many different artistic approaches. That alone probably justifies the tuition costs! >>hug<< Thank you!
Response: You are very welcome!! I really enjoyed making it for you. Thank you for allowing me the extra time to do it right!
Response: You are very welcome!! Thank you for the 5 and the heart! Especially since this swap went out late. I did put my heart into making the heart for you! ;) I'm so glad it travelled safely and that you like it!
Response: Yay! Thank you. And thank you for the heart and the 5 rating! :) I really enjoyed making it for you!!
Response: Thank you so much for the 5 and the heart! Especially since I was late in sending!! :) I'm very glad that you like your package! I tried so hard to choose things that wouldn't cause a problem when passing through customs!
Response: :) I am so glad you like her! I really did spend loving time on making her!!! Thank you. :)
Response: Yay! I really enjoyed making it for you! :)
Response: Thank you! and thank you for offering two to choose from-- it really sparked the idea for me! It was a blast!!
Response: You are so welcome! I used the self-portrait images plus manipulatable images of things your profile said you liked! I'm really glad you like the result. :)
Response: No pattern-- it kinda just happened. ;) It was an idea born in the moment just for this swap!
Response: Thank you! :) I'm so glad you like it!
Response: You're welcome!
Response: Yay!! Thank you for the wonderful rating! :) It's always a pleasure to swap with you!
Response: Oh, good! I'm glad it got through customs safely! :) I was a little worried about sending something so fragile.
Response: Oh gosh! Yay. :) You'll think it silly of me, given how much you love them, but I just.....I felt so bad about those journals--like they weren't quite what I had wanted to create, so somehow that made them less than okay. Thank you for the wake-up kick! That sometimes things can be different than planned and still wonderful. :) I know this about other peoples' work, of course, but I get blinded sometimes about my own.
HUGS!!!!!
Response: Yay! I figured how can I go wrong if everything is turquoise for you? ;) I'm so glad you like the fabric and the ATCs!! And the little dottee and the .. oh gosh, I've forgotten what I sent. :) I'm really glad you like it! I'm really really happy with how those particular ATCs turned out, too! :)
Response: I am so glad!! I love doing digital art, and sometimes people feel like that's "not real art" for some reason. Personally, I don't see the difference between collaging digitally and collaging from magazine cutouts! And either way there's handwork on top of it all to finish the cards, so... YAY!!! I am so glad to hear they've found a good home! :)
Response: YAY!!! It got through the military postal system!!!! Yay! Not quite in time for Yule, but quicker than I'd feared!! Thank you for being so patient with me so that I could make all the lovely components of the package! :) I'm so glad you like it!!
Response: Yay! :) You are most welcome!
Response: Yes, yes, yes, and Yes! :) I made them all !!! Muahhaahahahah!!! Thank you SO much for the deadline extension so that I could do that! If I'd had to send on time, I would have had to relied on storebought instead. I'm so glad you trusted me to come through with handmade! will PM you with more info. :)
Response: Awww Shucks!! :) I'm so glad you like them! I'd love to get paired up with you again sometime, we could maybe even set up a private ATC swap when I get some free time?
Response: I couldn't be happier to hear that the 9th quilt block has found such a loving, appreciative home! I loved the way it turned out so much that I made a similar one for myself, so you can think of your block having a distant relative! ;)
I hope to see you again in a future swap!
Response: :) You're very welcome! I liked making your set so much that I made a companion set for myself as well!
Response: I will be quite delighted to swap with you again! I also hope the opportunity comes soon! I am so glad that you loved it all! I tried to include things that I thought might fit what I could guess of your personality. ;)
Happy Swapping! And thank you for the wonderful comments!
Response: Yay!! I did choose those colors with you in mind! :) And it helps that they are colors that I love as well. ;)
Response: :) I am so glad you liked them all! I am very glad that the extra square found a good and loving home! :)
Response: :) I just love hearing that I've done a good job and have matched my efforts well to my partner!! :)
Response: :) Yay!! I am so glad it arrived safely and that it suits you so well! I had SO much fun making it for you!!
Response: So glad you like the wolf fabric! I was so lucky to find it!
Response: Awww! That was the Mandrake, yes? She turned out so beautiful! Like a dancer. :) I'm so glad that you like it! And all the rest!!! :) Thank you so much for hosting these fabulous swaps!!! and thank you ***SO*** much for giving me the deadline extensions so I could do the projects RIGHT! :)
Response: That monster fabric was from a wonderful quilt that my brother's girlfriend made! We have a habit of swapping scraps from our projects, which is really fun because we end up with a much wider range of fabrics than we'd normally buy for ourselves!
Response: :D
It's a real joy swapping with you! I'm glad you like your quilt block. :) It was really fun to make!
Response: You're so welcome! :)
Response: Oh! I'm so glad you like the bookmark!! Thank you. :)
As a general rule, I use the Micron pens. I love that they come in so mnay sizes. They travel well, and they just write like a dream!
Response: :)
Yay!!! ... that Jellyfish was such a fluke! I was cleaning my house in frustration and came across a little crochetted "bowl" that wasn't turning out the way I'd planned.... and I got the inspiration to turn it upside down and make it into the bell of the jellyfish!! super transformation! :)
Thank you! Look forward to swapping with you again!
Response: :)
Oh, I am so glad you noticed the stamp matched the zentangle theme!! It's such a delight when a little thing like that gets noticed! You're very welcome. That was a difficult one to part with! I'm glad it has a welcoming home. :)
Response: Yay! :) Glad to send to you! Hope to send to you again some time soon!
Response: Och! That was one of the more difficult ones for me to create! So glad you like the butterfly! He was the starting point of the whole design-- I drew him first and then worked outward, trying to create balance for the whole composition as I went. Sometimes that techique works really well for me, other times (like this time) it's a real challenge. :) Glad to send him to you!
Response: Again, I'm so glad you like it! I really enjoy making things for you. :)
Response: Yay! I'm so glad. :) It was really fun making it for you!
Response: Very welcome. :)
Response: No worries! I'm so glad you like it! :)
Response: You're so welcome! I'm glad you liked it. :)
Response: Yay!! :) I'm so glad I got to send that one to you!
Response: >>grin!!<< I need to remember to sign up for the jellyfish. Right now it's on my watchlist. So glad your 5-year-old is getting joy out of these swaps too! :)
Response: I'm so glad you like it! How funny that we both didn't think about just exchanging them in person. Ah well! Maybe next time! :)
Response: It's always a pleasure to swap with you, too!! :D
Response: Yay!!! :) I'm SO glad you like it!!! :) Everyone should have a good needlebook. They quickly become indispensable!
Response: Thank you! It was delightful to make zentangles for you!! :)
Response: I have this really neat set of ZIG permanent markers that someone gave me recently. They're meant for scrapbooking - archival, slow to fade, etc. I thought I'd have fun with them in my zentangles. :) Glad you liked it!!
Response: I'm so glad you liked them! They were a lot of fun to create for you. And my favorites are always the peacocky ones too. :) (though I doubt that's much of a surprise)
Response: I'm so glad I was able to stop by! It was an unexpected joy to meet you. :) Hopefully we will cross paths again soon! I'm hoping I'll be able to get to ConFlict this year. :)
Response: Yay!!! I'm so glad you like him! :) He was lots of fun to make and My own pattern!
Response: I loved it too!!! :) One of my better ones, I think. Glad you like it!
Response: I'm so glad it reached you safely and that you like it so much!! YAY!! yah.. that's why being a "newbie" is such a big deal - cause we do put a lot into our packages and we do hope to see a package come back to us that has as much thought and care as we send out... Treasure your reputation! You proved yourself a really good swapper with the box you sent to me. :)
Response: You are very welcome. I am always delighted to swap with you! P.S. -- the purge magic seems to have begun working already-- pretty much started working the day I wrote it all out and tucked it into the mail, and has been getting stronger ever since. :)
Response: Ah, yes. Alone in the wilderness, so to speak. Yes, I had fun! I am so glad you like the postcard!!
Response: Yay! so glad you liked it! It's one of my favorites. :)
Response: You're welcome! They were a lot of fun to create. I'm so glad they got through to you!! I always start wondering about the mail service this time of year...
Response: Yes! I loved it too. :) It was SO good to have you on the other end, interested in my progress!! ... of course, I would have preferred to have met my original goal and lost the weight I wanted to lose!! .. but all is not lost-- the regaining of the weight helped emphasize that all the really hard, tedious work that I put in for the first couple of months that seemed like it wasn't having any effect at all--- may have really been working after all. I'm going to try again this year!! And this year I'm going to succeed. ;)
Response: So glad you got them! They were lots of fun to make for you. :)
Response: I'm glad they made it!! I was beginning to wonder if they'd been snowed in en-route! ;) I'm so glad that you like them both! I really enjoyed making them for you. :)
Response: Yay! I'm so glad they made it to you! I was beginning to wonder where they'd gone!! And I'm so glad that you like them!!! I did enjoy making them for you.. :)
Response: Yay! I'm glad they got there safely. :) I had a lot of fun making them, but they were also hard work! I'm glad you like them!
Response: You are so welcome!! I'm glad I was able to send you both in time for holiday decorating! :)
Response: :) ... I may have cheated. I printed out a picture of a snowflake that I liked and traced the basic outline for my zentangle string. ;) Once I'd done that, I was able to make lots of variations and none of my zentangle snowflakes were alike!
Response: I'm so glad you liked it!! I really enjoyed making it for you. :)
Response: (grin) yes, I sent them out on the same day and thought they'd reach you the same day. I wasn't super happy with the way the first one turned out, so I made the second and sent the first along as an extra. :)
Response: Yay! You are very welcome. I'm glad you like them!!
Response: Always a pleasure! I was very happy with the changes to this particular piece. :)
Response: Thank you! I really enjoyed making it for you. :) It was a great opportunity to use fancy fabrics from my scrap bin!
Response: I'm so glad you like it all!! It was a really fun package to put together for you. :) I didn't think it was all going to fit into that box, either! It was originally in a large bubble envie, but the box cost half as much to ship, so.... SQUISH! ;) Happy Thanksgiving!
Response: You're very welcome!! It was a real joy to create the card for you and I am so glad that you like it!
Response: You're welcome. That was one that I was really happy with. I think it captured the sense of a rainy, blustery Seattle area autumn really well. Glad to hear that you like the decorative papers, too! Happy Swapping!
Response: I'm really glad you like it! Thank you for coming up with such great swap ideas and for hosting so many fabulous group swaps! You're the best. :)
Response: Thank you so much! I really enjoyed drawing it for you!!
Response: Yay! Very glad to hear my package got through customs and the postal strike! Overjoyed to hear that you like the contents! :) And I get the fur from my bunny by combing and brushing him, so he rarely gets bald. ;) It takes longer to collect the fur that way (which is why most people shave their bunnies) but it's good cuddle time for him.
Response: You're most welcome! I'm so glad that you will enjoy the patterned papers! The ATCs I made this round were zentangl-y because I really needed something I could carry with me and create in short bursts. :)
Response: I really love making zentangles! I'm always so surprised how different they all are from one another. I look forward to swapping with you again in the future!
Response: Very glad you like it! It was really distracting to have it sitting on my desk before I had your address! -- made me want to eat donuts all the time! ;)
Response: You're welcome! I really enjoyed making them and I was very happy with the way they turned out!
Response: I'm so glad you like it! I'm so glad I got to send to you!
Response: Very glad you liked them! I thought the musical notes ribbon would be perfect for you based on your profile!! :)
Response: They were fun to create! Glad you liked them!!
Response: So glad that you like the vintage fabrics I sent you!! They are so much fun to work with and such an inspiration to me! It's nice to be able to share. :) I really liked the way your wristband turned out-- I may end up making another one for myself... (if I ever get around to it)
Response: The one that I got from my partner was little, too. :) It was cute! I decided to use the large cardboard tube from a roll of packing tape because it was so sturdy and I had no idea what else I could do with it! Overall, I think smaller is often more successful. Glad you liked it!
Response: So glad you liked it! I was surprised at how much smaller the shrinky-dink part got. I hope you can still see all the pattern and design without a microscope! ;)
Response: You're so welcome! I'm glad that you like it. :) I love cloth napkins-- use them a lot. Mostly mix-n-match recycled fabric handmade napkins. So glad I could make one for you!
Response: Yep, that first attempt was really horrid. Holds pins... but that's about the best I can say about it!!! The second one turned out really well, I thought. :) Glad that you like it too!!
Response: Swing dancing is amazing. Good exercize, great chance to DO something together! ... it was a toss up between here and CA for a little while... but I am SO glad we both chose to be here!!
Response: Yep. That is the LEAST zentangled any of my zentangles have ever been. I had SUCH a tough time with that one for some reason!! maybe because I couldn't figure out how to sub-divide the vegetable for patterning... good challenge for me, though!
Response: That'd be great!! I'd love to catch a coffee or snack with you. :)
Response: Thank you so much!! Zentangles are so much fun to create! I'm glad that you like them so much!! I chose the extras thinking that they might be things you could use! Very glad to hear that they are!!
Response: So glad that you like it!! I really enjoyed making it! I enjoyed the challenge of making one large zentangle made up of four smaller zentangles -- I kept checking to be sure that the little pieces worked as well as the larger one!
Response: Very glad your biscornu arrived! I liked the way it turned out so much that I am working on one for myself! Also glad you like the wrist pincushion. :)
Response: Yes, I saw that you love fall colors! My grandmother did too. :) Plenty to choose from! ;) So glad that you like it!!
Response: Yay! Glad that they both got there safely! Very glad that you like them!!
Response: The pincushion is stuffed with poly-fil. :) You're so welcome!
Response: Oh good! So glad to hear that the horrid socks have a happy home!! :) good luck on getting the pincushion back from your kids... ;)
Response: Yay!!! :) I was so very happy when I got your package! I'm so glad you were happy to get mine! So glad that the vase came through the mail intact!
Response: Yes, I designed him to be a little like a "dottee" doll. ;) I just didn't put all the beads and trinkets all over him like I would do for a dottee swap because the beads and trinkets would diminish his ability to be used as a pincushion. ;) I'm so glad you like him!
Response: I'm so entrhalled with the bottlecap pincushions myself these days! They're so cute and transportable when they're done, and they keep the needles from getting lost inside or poking out the bottom! Glad to hear you liked the ones I sent you!
Response: I really did enjoy making it. :) I'm so glad you liked it!
Response: Glad to run the swap! It was a good idea. I do wish I'd had more time, though! Glad you liked the Gerbil Story!! I'd done a bunch of the work for a previous swap (I Have a Hamster), so when I ran short on time I grabbed that work and revised it rather than start all over from scratch with my fish or my bunny. Life seems always too short, doesn't it?
Response: Awww! Yay!! So glad you like it. I took a risk and made something that wasn't tailored to your profile, so I'm very glad to hear that it suits you! Happy Swapping!!
Response: Thank you! I thought it was going to much simpler and quicker, but instead it kept telling me it wanted more and more detail! (grin) I had fun putting it together for you!
Response: So glad you liked it! I tried to include some interesting colors and textures. Yes, there is a lot of handwork on it -- doing the handwork was such a nice break from all of the other stress going on in my life just now!
Response: An absolute pleasure. :)
Response: the computer museum was especially cool! :) So glad you liked the cards! I really enjoy picking them out for you and writing the messages on the backs.
Response: :) ! I am so glad that you like it! I really had a fabulous time making it for you. :)
Response: I hope it helps you enjoy this artform as much as I do! So glad to hear that it got there safely and that you like it!
Response: You wouldn't *believe* what I paid for those Crane notecard sets!! I lucked out and found them at a great sale price and just knew they were meant to be for you! ;)
Yes, I made the quill pens. I hope they still work well-- I didn't get a chance to test them before sending them. I made them years and years ago from feathers from my own pair of peacocks. I thought you would be a very appreciative home for them even if they end up only decorative for some reason. (I used to use them all the time.. they should still work!)
I used some of the violet scented ink on your quote journal before sending the rest of the bottle in your package! I'm relieved to hear it wasn't too overpowering for you. :)
Response: No worries. I'm glad that you got your blocks and that you like them!
Response: Glad to swap with you too!
Response: No worries. :) Glad they got through!
Response: It was delightful to send to you!
Response: Awwww (blush!) I'm so glad you like it!
Response: I do enjoy skating. ... or at least I did before the knee injury! Right now it's tough to go out to the rink because the simple things (like stroking, swizzles, crossovers) cause pain, and I don't get to do any of the fun or challenging stuff yet. Right now I practically force myself to go. I hope that it will get fun again! Thank you for the rating and the heart. :)
Response: Yes, I can imagine!! When my husband and I went to Europe many years ago, we had those frame packs. They would have been super if we'd packed lighter! But the camera equipment sure was heavy. :P
Oh! that luggage cart full of suitcases was what we actually had with us for three weeks in Hawaii. I'm so embarrassed! ;)
Response: Me too. :)
The background photo on your pc is from a trip to Hana (Maui, Hawaii). The mosquitoes were thick on the wet side of the island! I was scratching bites for the rest of the trip.
The bee-man is from my most recent trip to Tucson, AZ. We were out in the backyard, poolside, enjoying the sunshine and contemplating a dip when we noticed a swarm of bees resting in the nearby tree. It is a good thing we did not splash them! The bees in Tucson are all considered to be "Africanized" now-- interbred with the very aggressive African bee. A swarm of these aggressive bees have been known to kill a horse! Needless to say, we called in a pro.
Response: Thank you!
Yes, I think that the travel I have been able to do and the photographs I have been able to take have been some of the truly wonderful things in my life. :) I am so glad I was able to share them with you!
The pc I sent you didn't need much to get the point across. The road with the lava flow across it is the actual picture, taken on the Big Island, Hawaii. I imported the sign and changed its message, and added the caption. :) I wish I could take credit for creating the lava flow across the road image, but Mother Nature is the one that did all the work there!
Response: So glad you liked them! I did a lot of draft work on those-- some of the materials I tried to use didn't work as well as I'd hoped they would. I was finishing up your cards just the night before the mail-by date!
Response: Awww, Shucks! (blush) :) So glad you liked it all! :)
Response: So glad you like them! It occurred to me somewhere along the way that I didn't know whether the quilt you were working on featured the print fabric in the corners and center or the muslin in the corners and the print in the middle of the sides, so I made one of each. Was almost just as quick to make two squares as it would have been to make one! :)
Response: The junk-mail strip-pieced "bargello" pattern with horse and rider "applique" on top of it was so much easier to do than the traditional quilt-block with squares and triangles that I'd done for your "paper quilt postcard"! Last time I started by punching 1" squares and pasting those down (as squares or folded into triangles) to create the pattern. Tedious and time-consuming but I loved the results.
This time I realized I could use quilt makers' strip-piecing techniques to make the job quicker! I cut strips instead of squares and pasted the strips alongside each other on a foundation paper, then cut that paper into strips crosswise and built the pattern from those. SO much better!
Response: I really enjoyed the journal a lot more than I even expected to! And I was realizing that I could type the entries into my computer and then paste them into the book-- it would make it easier to angel the swap (if that became a problem) and would encourage me to fill the other pages of the book with more sketches and stuff. :) Would also reduce hand-cramp. :P
Response: give me a moment while I wipe away the tears of joy! I was so worried that my poor embroidery attempt would look like a tangled mess. .. or perhaps at best the cowardly lion!! I think I am my own worst critic. I am SO glad that you love it! :) I am so glad that it has gone to an appreciative home. Happy swapping!
Response: I'm so glad that you like the jellyfish!! He was very fun to create. I think that some day I will revisit the idea and make a larger-scale jellyfish wallhanging for myself! They'll be cousins. ;)
Response: YAY!!! I'm so glad you were able to find it! :) (Stupid mail delivery!)
Response: Not so bad today-- today was cold but bright and clear. Yesterdaythough! Yesterday we had serious thunderstorms with slush and hail. That's the thing about the Seattle area-- the weather is very interactive. You can't always tell from the morning's weather what the afternoon might bring.
Response: Same prints, no worries. :) They come with love.
Response: What a wonderful gift to see my ATCs on your blog! thank you. :)
Response: I'm so glad to hear that the self-stick stamp I used made it all the way to
Finland! :) Very glad you like the card.
Response: YAY!! ... I love paper piecing. :) It's really really fun. and you're welcome!
Response: They do still have the salmon hatchery! Glad you liked the postcard. :)
Response: awwww... (blush!) ..it was nothing. 0:)
Response: I did a lot of google-searching for Zentangles to see what other people were doing with them before I created my own!
Response: You're welcome!! I thought that with my own project list of "planned but not yet started" ideas, those fabrics would sooner see the light of day in your hands!! ;) I'm so glad you love them!
Response: Yay!! I'm so glad it survived the postal process!! ... I put so much of myself into them.. it's almost like giving away a child!
Response: Making people happy is the very best reason to swap. :)
Response: I'm so glad! With the topic being "nurture yourself," I thought I'd include some ways for YOU to be nurtured. :)
