I'd love to see those pitcher plants~ We have some here in New Jersey and they are protected by law :) I live in the Sourlands - https://sourland.org/ No.. NJ Is not all cities-- its got 3 major cities and the rest is rather residential and A LOT of farms - IT's called the "Garden State" for a reason! Gets a bad rap coz of Newark (near NYC) LOL!!
Response: I posted a few pitcher photos to my Instagram (oreotalpa) recently, since they were blooming and I impulse-purchased a new baby recently! Mine are domestic hybrid Sarracenia - related to your wild ones, but I've never been lucky enough to see Sarracenia in the wild. Someday, perhaps...(with a lot of bug spray). They're really wonderful plants to keep, very easy and rewarding. The Sourlands look amazing - gotta add them to my bucket list!

Response: The Blue Mountains are not all that mountainy (at least by my standards), but they are absolutely gorgeous and there are lots of cool things to see in the area! Highly recommend.

Response: It's pretty good, although I am aiming to replace some of the invasive plants (so much English ivy) with native plants, or at least plants that provide more wildlife food. But there is a lot of activity out there!

Response: Yay, glad you liked them! There are a lot of botanical illustrators teaching online classes in Europe (more than in North America, honestly), so you might be able to find a similar workshop if you look around.

Comment: I enjoyed hearing about your weekend. Making tea sounded interesting. And the ZOOM art class sounded fascinating. But I’m very intrigued by your crow watching/feeding. We have lots of robins and some swallows, which are a nuisance. TYVM for sharing. I loved the extras too!!!!
Response: I admit I still haven't tried the homemade tea yet, haha. I suppose I should do that. The crow has definitely become a regular visitor - I think today he brought a young one, but it flew off when I tried to get a good look! I guess some people think crows are a nuisance, but so far I feel they've been very polite.

I love my authentic vintage postcards (especially the scalloped edges). My washi samples and stickers are pretty cool as well.

I'm sorry to say that the Vader stamp is from a 2007 Star Wars set I still have a couple partial sheets of, but if one keeps an eye out it's possible to get older stamps for face value or less (I'll send you a message about some local possibilities). They're only 41c so you have to add another 14c to get to an oz. It looks like we have another Star Wars issue (droids!!) coming out in May, though!

Response: I was originally disappointed the color theory class was in colored pencil, but I was definitely pleasantly shocked how much I learned drawing random boring household objects and shaded spheres in a medium I don't love. It really changes the mindset! Now I just have to figure out how to actually apply what I learned to subjects I AM invested in...

I store some of the Stickii folders in a compatible binder I found on Amazon and I use the small Avery binder with its matching sleeve pockets to put my favorite sheets in. Luckily have teacher mother in law who just loves that I give her tons of stickers. Have you seen the Stickii BAO yet? I love it for taking swap writing on the go! Response: You're very welcome! The washi with backing seems to have started showing up fairly recently - on AliExpress it's usually called "special ink" washi - I'm not sure what Etsy sellers call it. It is a lot easier to cut things out of than regular superwide washi!

Response: Vintage Dennison labels have become kind of a hot commodity! I have only found a few that weren't overpriced - they're so expensive on Etsy and Ebay. I think the company (now Avery) could make some money by producing some nostalgic gummed labels! I'm kind of surprised it's not easier to find modern versions. I'm working on a surprise for your next letter! :-)

Response: It is one of the most incredible experiences I've had! Absolutely mesmerizing (literally) - it's honestly a little alarming how not nervous one can feel next to molten lava. Response: Heh, um, very tiny embroidery scissors and a compulsive nature? I have a massive pile of field guide and dictionary cutouts (more than I can ever use) now due to it being my destress method of choice at the moment. I think that one was from a kid's dictionary. Hope you have fun!

I had to have my mom mail it since I was going out of town, but I'd underestimated postage and my nice local postal clerk carefully selected additional thematic stamps. I thought you might like the unused ones, also. :-) I found a man selling off his collection on Craigslist a while back and was able to stock up on some amazing vintage postage!

Response: Haha, yes, book art has been a bit of a struggle for me...but I mostly go for damaged or battered books that I get super cheap, like at library sales. I figure it's better than pulping! Comment: I like your swap-bot name. I lived in Oregon for about a third of my life. We went camping in the mountains when I was young. I miss those trips. At a older age I went salmon fishing there with my ex-fiance. The beauty of Oregon is breathtaking. Thank you for this postcard.

I spent a long time living in Colorado (which I also love), but the desert/prairie made me really appreciate all the things about Oregon I took for granted growing up here. :-) I love having so many waterfalls and of course the mossy rainforest. (Texas has some fantastic wildlife, though!)

Comment: Interesting I received your PC today, my daughter and I were just talking about Portland yesterday she is considering going to school there. It looks like a beautiful city with the mountain and background and I didn't know was classified as the city of roses. We live in an area where there's lots of bears and wildlife around us and I love that fact and seen them in their natural habitat. Thank you for the wonderful postcard and letter 😀
Response: It's pretty nice (or at least parts of it are), and close to nature, although it can be tough to get to it without a car. Not many bears, though! There are some good schools here.

Comment: I had to google the cranes call and you're right, pretty cute :D I love the geese landing on the first photo, you've captured the speed (lack of it?) very nicely! I'm pretty sure I have at least one postcard that has the mill in it since I loved it and your photo is just lovely, I really like the flow of water in it. And as cliche as the maple tree might be it's just so gorgeous, I LOVE the branches and Fall is one of my favorite times because of the colors (we call it 'ruska' here in Finland :)) so even though I like all the photos that one might be my favorite ;) Thanks for sharing and thanks for checkin out my blog! I love my halfsies :,D

Comment: I really like the postcard you made! I was lucky enough to snorkel with whale sharks. It was terrifying because they are enormous. I've never seen any sharks snorkeling around reefs and I hope I never do. I would be scared! Thanks much.
Response: Did the postcard survive the mailing process okay? I'm still figuring out method, so any feedback is helpful. I'm so envious you got to snorkel with whale sharks! They are so amazing, but I imagine the sheer size is intimidating. White-tipped reef sharks are pretty safe to be around, but I still had that moment of primal fear.

Comment: What an exciting assortment of flat items you've sent, I don't know what I like the most..@.@ Definitely saving the sticker squid and really cool space stamps for a special day, but I love the Washi, wolf, winter paper and other stickers, and let me just say, those are the prettiest looking weeds I have ever seen! Response: I'm so glad you liked the items! Sunprinting is incredibly fun - I just got a little $7 kit with the small squares of paper to experiment small scale, but I have dreams of doing a cotton scarf if I can figure out how to get a big enough sheet of non-UV-blocking acrylic or glass.
