I sent you a picture on instagram of the state of your envelope when it arrived, fyi... methinks that sheet music has seen better days in terms of structural integrity.
Response: I am not particularly fond of mushrooms, or stuff getting lost in the mail! Oh I agree...the ' seen better days' and bird theme are what drew me to it, but me thinks it will be better served as a inner envelope or as part of a collage now. Glad it all made it to you any ways =o)

Comment: Thanks for the PC! My brother in law did the DNA test and it was so interesting to see his results. Did you know full siblings can have different results? I didn't think that was possible, but I looked it up and it turns out the results can be very different. My husband wants to do one now. Maybe for Christmas....
Response: I was just going to have one kid do the test...cuz of course they are the same till I also read that they can be very different. I am so interested to see the differences. Many of the test companies ate running specials right now. Maybe you should do yourself too? =o)

Response: I have to admit I did the painting before I signed up for the swap. I do that often if a swap sounds scary to me so I can be sure I can do it before being assigned. Comment: I love your photos! Thanks for the extras and for the lovely note. I saw a huge owl in Yellowstone once (many, many photographers hanging around - including some with HUGE lenses I was drooling over), but it was too close to dark for me to get a good shot.
Response: How very cool to see a owl in the wild. I could hardly believe that one was just sitting there, we drove by and I had to think about what I had seen for a couple of minutes before I made my husband turn the car around! Some times the best camera though is our own eyes and brain =o)

And the tea. My whole family loves the smell of this kind when someone makes it. This was a wonderful swap. Thank you so much. As far as things to do in the Twin Cities, if you decide humongous, crowded, overpriced malls aren't your thing (can you tell how much I love the mall of America?) the Minneapolis Institute of Art (MIA) is free and completely amazing. I try to go at least once a year.

Comment: WOW! That was an insanely fun envie to open up (carefully...very carefully)! You did awesome. I was scared to make them too. I love how you made different sizes and perforated the edges...I tried to do that with my sewing machine but didn't work well for me. Do you have special scissors? I'm going to have to hunt some down, it just adds that extra realness. Thanks so much!
Response: I too tried a sewing machine first but I can't sew a straight line and I didn't think the holes were big enough. Then I remembered those scissors left in my old scrapbook supplies and I think they were perfect. So happy you liked them =o) Thanks!

Even without color I can tell pretty well what it looks like from your craft space window. What color is the fence, I'm curious. And I adore the Sun Stars and Moon hanging decoration. I'll bet it is really pretty in the light from the window. Thanks for a great postcard!
Response: i Grace. The fence was once white but it's been up and weathered for 25 years so is pretty 'distressed' looking =o) My brother sent me the moon hanging from a street fair in Arizona, it's mostly purple and makes me happy to look at too. Thanks for the comment <3

Comment: Ya, Its totally a 50/50 that someone else will either love the ATCs you pass on, or not...I've been surprised before about what ATCs my partners have liked from the ones I sent on...so I really love these swaps, even if I just end up keeping only one or two ATCs out of the pile :). Yay, another fabric lover...I won't lie, I rolled around in the fabric you sent before I even looked at the ATCs, you understand lol. Fabric is dangerous! I haven't quilted a whole lot, I usually make pouches and mostly kid stuff for all my nieces/nephews, but I've made a few easy strip quilts. Thanks so much for the ATC selection, the gorgeous butterfly ATC and the fabric...I was spoiled, yeeeee!

This was in '84, so I did not have any gadgets to distract me from the ride. The Grand Canyon really stands out. Is your son in the military at Ft. Richardson? Response: I hoped you would find that card interesting =o) We spent a lot of our trip listening to stories on tape and watching for animals. Our son works for the US geological service in Anchorage.

Comment: Guess what I got today? Two gorgeous tryptichs! Beautiful and fun watercolor Suns. I will be sending one of them back to you. The sea glass and rocks are so very cool. I love the Washington coast, but only in the summer, too cool for me in the other months. The one tryptich came in a plastic body bag, only the tattered envelope and the ATC was in it along with a letter of apology from the post office. I have had several of those lately. Response: Funny story about the goat, we had just came over a hill and saw the sun setting and stopped the car so I could snap a picture. Days later I looked at the picture on the computer and saw the goat! Checking the map it seems that there was a goat farm (ranch?) just below where we stopped. Guess he was enjoying the sunset too. Comment: Thanks for the unique card. The postal system beat it up a little and oddly enough the butterfly and round design stayed with the card even though they were not physically attached. It is like the static cling kept them together. Funny how much we have in common. We would probably be fast friends if we didn't live across country from each other. I visited the Seattle area about 10 years ago and had a great time!! Thanks again.

Comment: Hi Jeanette, Thanks for the PC of the old steamship... I like boats and I'd love to go on a working ship, as a passenger. I have NO desire to go on a cruise. I tell people that the only mode of travel that would take me where I want to go is a time machine. I can't think of anything worse than going to Paris for example, and seeing a Starbucks on one corner & a MacDonalds on the other. Love armchair travel though!!

Very cool, I will be doing some reading on those. The photo mounting, background, etc. on a card is top quality. I don't think I could ever send them away! Did you ever buy Haystack bread at the Canon Beach bakery? Yum!
