Comment: Thank you for your lovely message and the adorable red panda postcard! Charite sounds really interesting -- I like the premise of it being set in the hospital throughout history. It isn't on Netflix anymore, but I might be able to watch it on Amazon Prime. I'm the opposite of you lately -- I'm listening to audiobooks because I can get other things done while I do it. The best one I listened to recently was Team of Rivals by Doris Kearns Goodwin. It's about how Abraham Lincoln filled his cabinet with men who were his rivals during the election because he didn't want a bunch of people who would just say Yes to him. It reads like a novel -- really good. P.S. My whole family is loving the Lord of the Rings stamp!

Comment: There are so many things to love about this swap! The pretty mail art envelope, the Lunar New Year stamp, a cool Steampunk Headquarters postcard... but the best is your altered postcard. I love how you incorporated the stickers into the image (the flower coming out of the sax like waves of music!), and I really love that it's a rescued postcard! My dad owned a recycling center when I was a kid and we rescued a lot of cool things and gave them a second life over the years, so this brought back great memories for me as well as being super cool on it's own. Thank you, Carola!!

My oldest child will be 20 next month and just told us they are moving an hour away in a few weeks. I can't imagine being half a world away. I hope it'll work out that you can visit this year. My youngest is 15, too, and the middle kid is 18. Quite an adventure raising kids, isn't it? :)

I'm sorry to hear you had to leave your kitties behind but it's good that you were able to leave them with family and you know they will be cared for. Many years ago I had to give up my kitties and surrender them to a shelter because I couldn't find anyone that would take them. It was one of the most difficult things I have ever had to do. But now I have Penny and Mango and they are my fuzzy, cuddly, purring little loves. Little fixers of everything that's wrong. I wish you and your husband Happy New Year! Happy swapping!

Comment: Very cool King Charles and Camilla stamp. I also love the unique vintage stamps on this. Stamps really are like the frosting on a cake. I loved reading about the abbey in England that you sent the pc of. I will have to look into that story more. I hope to get to the UK one day and your country as well. I first have to visit England, Scotland, Spain and Italy and THEN I can get across the Pacific to your country.

I just saw a recent photo of that same bridge and it is astounding how much construction has happened in that area since this postcard photo was taken. I also love the Hairy Maclary Stamp. I have never heard of that before.

The other pc's are amazing and bizarre - Nose for News and woman wearing the rose bouquet!!! Love the French dictionary pages and music sheets. The beach word paper and printed vellum papers are wonderful. Then all the terrific little goodies: stickers and cool NZ ephemera! My absolute favorite is the tag with the kiwi cutout! Very fun envelope and postage, too. My son and his wife lived in Mt Wellington and Rotorua for 2 1/2 years and when we visited them we spent 3 weeks traveling all over the south island. We did go through lovely Nelson. What a spectacular country you live in. Thank you again for the great swap.
