I guess, since you are the coordinator, I can admit that I misunderstood this swap - I thought we were supposed to decorate the envelope FOR the person, and not send them their own decorated unused envelope inside an undecorated envelope. The envelope you sent me is really a work of art, and a treat because now I can use it myself, too!
Response: No, you didn't misunderstand. It can go either way. I sent my first 3 swaps with the mail art stamped and addressed to my partner. But I got an envelope mangled by the USPS. And then I got one with the mail art inside of a regular envelope, and it just seemed safer to do it that way, so my partners get mail art in good shape. But it's not a condition of the swap, and you can do it either way.
I'm happy to hear you liked the envelope!

Comment: I remember when the Coral Court Motel was torn down (a sad thing for the Mother Road) and I remember when Shelee Graham issued this postcard. In fact, I have a book about the motel that she wrote. Bought it at the gift shop of the Missouri Historical Society in St. Louis.

Response: That's a reverse fold. Crease it in both directions, and then push down on the top of the head. It just takes a little practice.

Response: Sad to say, that's because one tribe took refuge from its enemies there, and the other warring tribe just surrounded the rock until group at the top died of starvation. Grim story for such a pretty place.

Comment: I love the postcard of St Louis so original. I'm originally from the West but I am absolutely loving VA... now that we are finally out of DC... well still in the metro but at the fringes so I can enjoy the countryside. It's absolutely gorgeous here.
Response: Thanks for the 5 rating. VA has great cities, beautiful rural areas, and the ocean. As long as you're out of DC, what's not to love?
