Comment: HAHA I will never fault you for not decorating an envelope. Sometimes we have more energy and time (or even just motivation) to do it and others we don't. You have the neatest collection of notecards too. The photo exhibits sound really neat - maybe see them in the opposite order next time to see if you like that one better if you aren't directly comparing it to the American South one. Anyway, thanks for passing along these cards, hope you can find some bright spots in your weekend.

Comment: Hi Barbie! I received your card, thank you for extra postcard. I'm fairly new to swap-bot, I've only been on here about 3 months. It's my understanding that you only need to send one card. Sometimes (I don't know how) I end up with like a dozen cards. I've had people send one and people send three. If I have a lot, I'll send two. If I don't I might send one and add a new one of mine. But I don't think there are strict rules. I always try to fill the card out to the bottom if there's room. Some people write 1 line, some write 4. If you're unsure, I'd just pass it on. If the next person thinks it's too full, then let them pass it on. I try to be very lax, because this is supposed to be fun and enjoyable!
I didn't dress up for Halloween, but we had a fun time! My kids were Elsa, a mermaid, a ghost and a bird. We went to a new location and they had all kinds of things I'd never seen! A candy canon! It was amazing! Light shows, like at Christmas time, "game shows" to win king size candy bars. It was like a massive trick-or-treat party in the whole neighborhood. I've never seen anything like it. Hope your Halloween was a fun one as well!
I've never seen Star Trek OR Star Wars. I know, I need to. One day when I have a lot of extra time!

The Left Hand of Dog was a fun, silly read with interesting takes on gender expression, so I enjoyed the light romp between heavier reads. Next up for me is The Left Hand of Dog by Si Clarke for a book club swap. I don't set reading goals other than finish before it is due, but I always join reading challenges from my local libraries and far exceed the minimum challenge. The most recent one was a challenge for 400 min of reading and I've logged over 3400 so far. It ends Monday.

Comment: This postcard made my day. Wish I could give more than one heart. I'm envious of your trip to the Poe Museum, but hugely grateful for the postcard from it. Premature Burial perhaps? And topped off with the perfect stamps. Nice to meet another Dark Histories fan. I'm not as methodical in my listening, I skip around. Sometimes I use it to help me fall asleep then wake up to him talking about an eyeless creature floating down the hall. So then I'm up for the rest of the night. Anyway, thanks sooo very much!

I have, indeed, been haunted. Several times. Once was in a Safeway and the young female spirit helped me choose bagels over English muffins. I got the impression she'd drowned. Once was my favorite relative, who spooned me for three nights after she died in my arms. Granny said the sight skips generations in females in her family, and she and I shared several experiences.

It's one of my best memories because it was interesting to look at the art and also walk downtown. The weather was good, and I really enjoyed the city and the museums! I also love visiting downtown Chicago!

My fave Cryptid is The Loch Ness Monster, I've been up to Loch Ness but alas Nessie was shy that day and I have a crazy idea in my head about a book/film/TV show about Nessie and a friend, maybe one day huh? I feel really sad for Squonk. I'd never heard of them as a Cryptid but somewhere back in my distant memory, I remember a Genesis song called Squonk. I agree with the whole beauty myth, everyone and nature is beautiful in every way. I do love fluffy Cats but hairless are gorgeous as well. Thank you for a fab swap. 😺😺

I've never seen any, but I once heard someone clearly walking around in the attic one night. Comment: This is the PERFECT Out of the World themed pc!! Princess Leah is the OG SPace Princess!! hahah! Love it!!!! Star Wars is a thing for my whole family ! We are licensed Lucas Film cosplayers who dress up for things like Make a Wish, Juvenile diabetes foundation and a bunch of other charity events. Because we are licensed our costuming is Movie screen accurate which means we have to be approved by a panel before we are allowed to wear it out and at Lucas Film licensed events! its a LOT of money to be a movie screen accurate cosplayer but the benefits are helping KIDS! <3 (oh and animals too!!)

Comment: THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!! I love your doodles!!! And I'm drawn to Pacifica because of her self-assurance. I really enjoy her character arc, and how she started as a spoiled brat and ended as a rich girl with confidence and a willingness to learn. I also like her character design. I think my favorite episode is when they have a gala at the West Mansion and Dipper and Pacifica are trying to figure out the reason why the ghosts are haunting the mansion. I've been reading a lot more LGBTQIA+ books lately as well! I like seeing myself in books that aren't a coming out story. I just want to see someone exist in the world who's like me, you know?

The Only Good Indians also sounds very good, so I'll check it out. I hope you're enjoying your reread of The Haunting of Hill House - I want to reread it as well. Shirley Jackson is one of those authors you really have to think about. She's so good! Right now I'm reading Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune...not really spooky, but it does have ghosts and I'm enjoying it!

Comment: I watched The Haunting of Hill House and loved it! There's a sister show called The Haunting of Bly Manor you should check out as well, also on Netflix. My fall book has been The Psychic Witch, which is more of a metaphysical informative book I've heard great things about in the witch community, and I'm already seeing why. It's easy to digest and references science/facts we already have available to add greater understanding. I do have a Clive Barker book I've been wanting to jump into for the season, though! I love creepy and scary. Happy Halloween to you!

Octopi and otters are definitely in my top 3, but narwhals are my #1 favorite sea animal. It makes me so sad that they're the most likely to go extinct with rising ocean temperatures!

Comment: Thank you for the owl postcard. So cute! My favorite artist Keegan Hall. He is a local guy that was in my daughter's class in high school. He uses pencil so all of his art is black and white. He'd given up on his art because someone told him he wasn't any good, but a note that a friend of his mother's sent him when his mom passed away, started him back on his art path. Most of the proceeds from his art goes to charities. I never knew him when he was in school, but had the opportunity to meet him at a Sounders Soccer game. They were giving away his posters and he was there to sign them. A very nice young man. You can check him out at Keeganhall.com. Hopefully you will be able to go to a museum soon. :) Thanks again!

There is also a similar song called Internet Killed the Video Star by The Limousines that is sort of an odd catch up to the original. The video is cute (but cute with zombies, so take that as you will).

We have a lot of them by our bird feeder, and I love to watch them :) Yes, here it is also cooling off, I'm expecting frost anytime soon. Regarding finding postcards... I often make my own, and for purchased cards, I have several sets of postcards that I love that I got on Amazon. Fix yourself a beverage, curl up in a comfy chair, and do a search on "postcard set" and you will be able to spend as much time as you have available looking at more types of postcard sets than you can imagine! ;)
