We've lived in Alabama 13 years now and have only been near its Gulf Coast once, for a few hours to visit with friends who were vacationing in Orange Beach. It really is beautiful! We usually headed north to Indiana (hubby's home state) or to the mountains of northern AL and GA.

Comment: I really enjoyed reading your letter and feeling such a kinship with you on how we relate to nature!! And it was interesting that I talked a lot about my relationship with nature in my letter to my partner!! I consider it part of my ritual /worship to just sit and be in nature noticing all that there is!!! My husband was raised Catholic too and he loves Mary/ sacred feminine too and we discovered paganism together! You have devoted much time to studying and practicing amazing healing pathways and it must feel very good when you can help someone heal!! Your Litha celebration sounds like it will be fantastic!! I've never seen the endangered Piping Plover stamp, I really like how the bird is shiny on a black background. Beautiful! And so many playing cards with pictures on the number side, totally funtastic! Sometimes it's hard for me to pick a favorite, but in this batch the Quackington card really stood out. It's so freakin' cute!! Thank you for everything!

Places in NH to go/things to see: if you like museums the Woodman Museum in Dover NH is an odd place, very Victorian feel (lots of random weird things), Strawbery Banke - living history museum in Portsmouth is an awesome stop for great history and Portsmouth had lots of good food too.

I appreciate the bonus twos, too. =) In the future, you'll want to make sure you meet the minimum requirements because some folks are sticklers and might rate down. While this bundle had lots of 3s (two hearts, two spades, one club) it had no 3 of diamonds, which was required. No biggie to me, but wanted to mention so you're aware for next time. Cheers!

I've not read any Iris Murdoch either and after reading your review and even less inclined to do so! But thank you for struggling through and for providing a really interesting -- even if shorter than usual -- review and commentary. Hopefully the next book will be better. (I must admit that I've had a couple that I loved and a couple that were a real struggle to make myself finish. But it's definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone!)

At first, it was picture books but later I was enchanted with fairytales (Grimes Fairytales were my favorite).

Comment: First let me say your handwriting was very easy to read. We have lots in common. I love being by the lake and relaxing, especially sitting and enjoying the nature around it. My husband and I are going on a road trip through South Dakota or down to Myrtle Beach, SC this year too! We love traveling and seeing America. I bet Iceland would be an amazing trip - hopefully you get to make that a reality. I too live near where I grew up - in the same house, ha! :) I wish we had a waterfall near here - I can go hiking into the local mountains to see a waterfall but it's a drive and a trek, but doable for sure! On the 16th & 17th we had gotten 40 inches of snow. Most of it is gone now, as we got some rain. But along with it a lot of flooding. Don't get me wrong, I love the snow! But not so much of it. We literally had to dig our way out our house though.

Comment: Palm trees always remind me of the ex boyfriend who drove his car into a palm tree (he was fine). Now when I see them they make me laugh about his horrible driving. Sorry for the late rating, the pc was in a pile of mail that got soaked with water and I've been slowly peeling it apart, trying to damage as little as possible so I can still read enough to do ratings!

My son & his family live in Indiana, about an hour north of Indy. It takes about 4-1/2 hrs to drive to their house - the worst part is having to drive through Chicago. We try to pick slow times to make it through the city.
Glad you like where you live; being that close to Lake Michigan and hiking trails is a bonus, as well as living close to family!
